Nara Sushi & Grill

Beautiful ambiance just minutes away from the Garden of the Gods and the Cave of the Winds adventure park. You will love the exquisite sushi rolls and even the miso soup stands out. The service was excellent and we felt well taken care of.

The oldest is home from college so we thought we'd have a family night of sushi in Colorado Springs and then visit the Holiday Lights in Fountain. After researching, we settled on Nara Sushi. Upon entering, we were greeted and seated promptly. It took several minutes for someone to come and take a drink order, and she wanted to take our dinner order at the same time. No one offered to explain the menu (parts of the menu are "itame choice, so knowing what was offered would have been helpful). We ordered poke and 2 sushi and California roll dinners and 2 sushi/sashimi dinners. The man who seated us brought out Miso Soup and set them all on the edge of the table for us to pass down. He then asked if anyone had sushi. We replied that all of us did. He looked surprised and then said- well then you all get salad. (Ok?). Salads came out with the poke. It was delicious. We watched several beautiful dishes being delivered throughout the restaurant and knew we were in for a treat!When our dinners came, they were on risers with a beautiful presentation. The server didn't know who had what and started to see one on the table, tipping it over and spilling some of it on my son's lap. The server giggled nervously, got the other two towers and walked away. My son brushed the food on the floor, where it stayed until we left. We figured he would have told the itame so it could be replaced. We sat and ate our food (which was delicious, but I have no idea what I ate because, again, it was not explained), and no server ever came back. I asked my husband if he wanted me to get up to say something and he said- nah... they'll come back and replace it. We ate our entire dinner and no one ever came back. Our plates were empty and we were clearly done, and still no one came. Eventually, the server quickly set down a bill and rushed off. I paid the bill, but left a 10% tip and wrote the reason why in the back. At this time, the itame walked past and asked how everything was. I told her about the problem and her face fell. I told her no make up food was brought out and nothing was adjusted on the bill. She asked if we wanted dessert or something. We were literally getting up to leave. I don't know what the issue was- it was great food and I'd have liked to go back and sit at the bar.

The boat full of sushi was a highlight! Extremely kind staff and food. We went for Valentines and it was the perfect ambiance, but I'd also go back any day of the week for a roll

The food was great but the atmosphere was awkward. Customer service could use some work. I don't think the employees were happy to be there.

We were trying to order out, but we did not know which options were raw or cooked. When we called, they sent a picture of the menu right to me. The service was great and the food was amazing and quick. Thank you Nara Sushi. We would definitely order sushi again whenever we are in town.

Excellent sushi spot! The Nara House Roll was great! I will definitely be back to try more rolls.

We ordered Salmon Poke, Chicken Karage, Softshell Crab and Salmon Skins. The Chicken Karage was delicious, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The Softshell Crab was so good, but ask for spicy mayo for dipping, it goes so well with it, instead of the soy sauce that they pair it with. The salmon poke was lacking in flavor, my husband didn't like it. The salmon skins were just mehh, nothing special.
