I have been attending this church for approximately three months now. I went to First Step last week and am now going through the leadership program. I came from FLATIRONS COMMUNITY CHURCH where I felt at home. This church isn't as big as FLATIRONS and I like that. Although when it comes to churches, we want them to be growing. If we're not expanding, we're contracting. This church is filled with wonderfully smart and caring people that are as good as it gets. Give this church a chance if for no other reason than the community outreach program that provides food and beds for every child in our community that are not fortunate enough to have those basics. If you decide to go elsewhere great! Just go somewhere.

One of the worst churches I ever attended as a visitor. No one greeted us coming in. Everyone was in their little cliques around the coffee area & never looked up. No one made eye contact. The only person who said Hi was as we were leaving early. It was shallow. Not a church for someone who wants to learn Biblical Hermeneutics and grow in the word. When it comes to exegesis of scripture Context matters. This church had no depth...from repetitive songs and beyond. Just your average Cookie cutter post modern church.

We visited Mountain Springs for Easter Sunday 2016. We have been so blessed by Keith Green's music and ministry and when we heard that his daughter and her husband were worship leaders here, we thought we'd make a special trip out from Denver to visit. We had no idea what we were in for. When we entered the building, our first impression was completely dominated by the music. Or rather the volume thereof. Christian contemporary music (CCM) was blaring so loudly that my husband (who generally doesn't mind loud music) said it was louder than any concert he'd ever been to. And that was just the pre-church mingling music. I am not exaggerating. It was deafening!Originally we tried to sit about 15 rows from the stage (yes, stage) but it was unbearable. Even our 17 year old said he couldn't stand it. So we moved back to row 25 or so as though that might help.We got there at 10:30am and the service was supposed to start at 11am. But nothing happened until 11:30 when the performers came on stage and the spot lights and smoke started. "Worship" music consisted of top 20 CCM hits. I kid you not. We tried to worship the Lord in spite of it all but breathing became more difficult from the smoke they were pumping into the air. The pastor's sermon - for EASTER - never once mentioned the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This has to be the first Easter sermon we've ever sat through in all our lives that the preacher didn't explicitly mention Jesus Christ, the Son of God, his crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection. What was this pastor's message? The Prodigal Son parable. He talked passionately about the prodigal for his entire half hour sermon. Now, I love that parable. It's wonderful. And I understand the link to the gospel. I do. But to not mention the unspeakable price Jesus paid on our behalf? Not to mention WHY he paid it? Not to mention how wretched sin is in God's eyes and that Jesus Christ's blood was the legal transaction that paid for all sin for all time for them that believe on his Name? Not to explain how to be born again?? Not to preach the GOSPEL? On Easter? Yeah, um, no. Absolutely, resoundingly no. Then just when we thought things couldn't get any worse they did something that, again, broke records for anything we'd ever witnessed. They had a sunken baptismal on the stage and resumed full blown, deafeningly loud "worship" (again, just CCM hits) DURING the baptism of several individuals. We could not believe our eyes. The carrying on of their concert whilst precious souls took part in what is supposed to be a wonderful, holy and joyous display of faith was just so...degrading.We were shocked to say the least, and...what? ....Huh? ....Did you say something? Oh sorry, my hearing is still recovering. Never again.

The leadership in this church is non-compassionate, as they do not care how they talk or treat their congregation or the people visiting their church. We recently spent a week with the leadership in Israel, the pastor disrespected my wife in a very belittling way and spoke with her very abruptly and basically bullied her and never allowed her to speak or explain her side. The pastor did this when I wasn't around, and when I was, He acted as nothing happened. Pastor Daniel never acknowledged his rude demeanor and never apologized to myself or my wife for his behavior. We also saw how he conducted himself in holy sites and the people who were serving us. He was extremely rude and arrogant to numerous people. Do yourself and your family a huge favor and find a different church that cares about their congregation and the people searching for Christ, as this is not the place.

I noticed that many of the reviews here were quite old. I am new to Mountain Springs Church, started attending about a year ago. From day one, I was welcomed with a smile! I decided it would be my church home that same day and chose to plug in right away. I have enjoyed community group as well as serving on the connect team. This is a place where you can meet Jesus and grow in him. I know personally that the staff is dedicated to connecting and loving people and has a heart to see them grow in faith and walk in freedom. Love is at the heart of all they do.

We've been at this church over a year now. I am disappointed to hear the reaction of the person who attended this last Easter. I do wonder if we were even at the same service, however. I have never thought the music loud - though I have learned that "too loud" is about as subjective as it gets. Kind of like "too cold" when I, a California transplant compares weather with my son who wears shorts in snow. The service time for Easter was posted as 11:30. The 11:00 time is the regular time during normal attendance weeks. Most churches in the area change their schedules for Easter and Christmas and it was on the big sign outside as well as on the website.I got a very different reaction from the message. The prodigal is the perfect parable for why Jesus came, was crucified and resurrected. I thought the message of the parable and of Easter were tied together well with a lot of baptisms to cap off the "from lost to saved" focus of the message. The church hosts amazing Awana and Elevate programs that my kids love. These have been excellent influences on my children.I also appreciate the verse by verse in depth teaching that makes up most series. It really helps avoid the problems with being out of context that sometimes happens with topical series.

We are new to the area and have had a great experience here so far. If you are looking for a modern church that teaches truth with excellent music and speakers, this church is worth trying!
