Very relaxing and nice setting winery a little out of the town of Poncho Springs. We had a group of six and two dogs and were able to find a nice table outside. I got the Gewürztraminer and it was a little sweet for my liking. One of our friends got a flight and the pours were huge! Basically four glasses of wine. 5 star service, but didn't love the wine.

I have been an avid wIne drinker for a while now so for stopping at a place on our way to Ouray was something I had to do!! And this place did not disappointed me. At our arrival, we were warmly greeted and welcoming by who appeared to be the owner of the place. We appeared to be the first customer of the day. it was sunny with no clouds in the sky; it was a perfect weekend for a quick getaway to a nearby mountain resort. As soon as the owner started to pour us some samples of wines, a slew of people came, one after another, as if we drew the crowd into it. What a great feeling. The wines as well as the customer service were quite good might be an understatement. Running a beautiful winery in this kind of beautiful setting (a few of the pictures posted on this page were taken/done by me) is always someone's dream. YOU SHOULD CHECK IT OUT!

For some strange reason, none of the convenient stores in Colorado carry wine. It's bizarre. So in our search driving up and down Hwy 50 for some wine, we stumbled upon this place. Because we're lucky! We drank some of their wine onsite, and took a few bottles with us. Either that's a really good sign that this place sells fine wine, or else we were just clean out of the stuff and were desperate enough to drink anything. So you be the judge after giving this place a go yourself!

I had 2 flights here & enjoyed a nice afternoon on their patio! Every wine I tasted was fantastic (coming from someone as picky as myself who imports their wine from Italy) I bought a whole case! Great little hidden gem

I found this winery by attending a wine festival in Colorado and discovered that they are right off the highway in Salida just off 50 and that we pass them every time we go skiing at monarch. Since then I stop at this winery after skiing every time I go to stock up! All of the wines are 10/10. I personally love the angel blush as I prefer rosés however the Sophie's red is amazingly buttery and smooth as well. 10/10 recommend

Completely out in the middle of nowhere, but worth the trek, if you aren't a total wine snob (they do have an off-shoot tasting room closer to Salida proper, but it isn't open on Sunday, which is when we were there). If you're a snob, you will probably not enjoy this winery, as it appears their specialty is doing crazy things like mixing wines with various other fruit wines (though they do also have some pure grape wines). If you aren't a snob, and enjoy wineries that do crazy things, you will absolutely love this place, especially the fact that tasting, at least when we went, was *free*, to taste as much of you like of everything. You will *especially* love this place if, as we do, you like sweet wines. Most of their wines are dry to off-dry, even the fruit blends. They describe a couple of their wines as semisweet that I'd really call off-dry (that said, I was quite fond of the - off-dry - blackberry cab: those flavors went quite well together). But if you like dessert wines, specifically if you like ice wine... oh man will you love this place. We flew in from LA, and weren't planning on checking bags, so we were thinking we couldn't bring back any wine. Their apple ice wine forced us to check a bag. It's made from apples, but it really does just taste like a quality ice wine, with just a hint of apple (but I've had standard grape ice wine that had a hint of apple in the flavor, too). $12 a bottle. Where else are you going to find ice wine for $12 a bottle? Nowhere. We bought two.

Wow!!!! We used to live within a stones throw of over a dozen wineries and vineyards in Central Virginia. They have nothing on this fantastic boutique winery. We sampled all of their wines and bought 10 out of the 15!! Never have we liked more than 3 or 4 that a winery has to offer. Our host Jeff was great as well. Cheers!

Stopped in for a glass of wine While on a road trip & were so pleased by this winery. Jeff was absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable about the wine. Delicious wine and the Mountain Views outside were lovely. Grabbed two bottles so we could continue to enjoy at home.

The server had no history of the winery. Old establishment with dying apple trees and very little appeal! The white wine was not cold and not very good. They have cheese in a plastic wrap from the store if you fancy that type. The creek bed is so close and this place could be so much better with a little bit of TLC!

We had an amazing experience at Mountain Spirit and did not try a wine that we did not like! We were able to have small samples of any kind we wanted. Wonderful environment!
