This is our new favorite Colorado park and trails. We followed a trail recommended by AllTrails, which is a lollipop loop made up of segments of the Castle, Meadow, and Tower trails. Everything about it is fantastic. There are clean bathrooms at the beginning of the trailhead, and several picnic areas, all with great views. Trail is well maintained too. We'll definitely be back.

This was a short (3 - 4 mile) hike. We did this hike in December and there some icy areas in which I ended up putting on my tracks. You essentially take the trail around the mountain. It is a loop and was muddy in some area. We did not see any wildlife other than birds. But the weather was perfect so it was beautiful and close to Denver so it was a quick drive to get there.

Very clean and straightforward trails, there were a lot of stops ranging from ruins to overlooks to summits. The views at the top were great. The trails were busy, so keep that in mind, but we had no issues parking. Placards at key locations helped explain the history and what you were looking e.

My first hike in Denver and it had enough variety to keep it interesting. Our group took a few trails to create a loop ( Ute, Devil's Elbow, Meadow). In all about six miles. Even though it rained in the morning and snowed in the area, the trails were fairly dry. At certain elevations you can see the Rockies. We visited two pavilions with nice views. Driving from Denver expect to drive on switchback sections to higher elevation.I've experienced better views but this park is a nice warm up to harder trails in the future.

My family and I went hiking here the day before Thanksgiving (11/22/2023), we throughly loved it. We met a ranger, Dr. Dan, he walked and talked to us at several different times and he helped make it one of the best hikes we've done. We want Dr. Dan's boss to know what a great asset they have in this guy. Thank you for your time and knowledge.

Went for a sunrise winter hike. Enjoyed the trail very much. Beautiful views with many places to stop and sit down and even have a picnic if one wanted. This will be on my rotating list of hikes for sure!

Awesome park with great views. We did the east side towards Red Rocks with the summer house at the top. The hike is moderate with not much shade and average incline. Plenty of parking and nicely maintained trail and a good amount of people but not too crowded. Not too many mountain bikes on the day we went.

The West Trailhead was an easy, open spaced and wide trailed hike. We took Castle Trail to the Walker House ruins. The hike was relatively flat with scenic views of the mountains to the West. The Walker House has a nice description of the property and Walker family, with even some pictures of how the house originally looked. We hiked on Castle Trail a bit longer before turning back and taking the "long" way back to the car by taking Meadow Trail followed by Castle Trail. Meadow Trail was very nice with some tree cover and a nice view of the meadow. I imagine in the summer it must be flourishing with wildflowers. Since it was only the beginning of spring, we mostly had some melting snow and brown shrubs - no worries, it was still gorgeous! The East Trailhead was a mix of open aired, forest tree cover, and high shrubbed trails. We took Castle Trail which was pretty open with minimal tree cover in the beginning. Even saw some deer. As you slowly ascend, you can see all the cool different rocks (pink, white, grey, red, etc.). A little over one mile in, you can choose to continue on Castle Trail, which will take you to the back of the mountain and to the West Trailhead or you can take Turkey Trot, and make your way back to the beginning. We took Turkey Trot and made our slow descent. The part was my favorite! There was so much tree cover, I was really enjoying the fresh Colorado air. As you get closer to the trailhead, you beginning to leave the heavily treed area to the familiar rocky, open spaced area that you encountered in the beginning. Both Trailheads are amazing yet so different! My favorite? East Trailhead :)

Visited Mount Falcon Park on a beautiful weekday morning and loved the more challenging uphill hiking trails. Parked on the Morrison east side, which has two different trails, Turkey Trot Trail and Castle Trail. There are also several other trails that branch off and connect via Castle Trail. We must have come on a busy workday for most because parking was a plenty and there wasn't much foot traffic. Also realized that we chose the more difficult side. If you're looking for easier hikes at Mount Falcon Park, go to the west parking lot. Here you can find nice views of Red Rocks, Denver and other surrounding cities. The views aren't the best by any means, but the hikes are more challenging as it's a lot of uphill walking. So, it's a good place for a workout, especially if you take Turkey Trot Trail. This trail is rocky, uneven and mostly uphill. All in all, it was tough. On our hiking trip, we came across several mountain bikers, a few whom would come out of nowhere quite fast. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled, as some aren't so courteous to slow down for you to get out of the way.Last time I was here, the bathrooms were being remodeled. There is also a small, covered area to sit and have a meal after your done hiking.A short distance from Denver, Mount Falcon Park is the perfect place to get out and explore!
