Mineral Adit Rockshop

Very unpleasant. After asking the name of two rocks, the male owner demands, "Well, are you going to buy anything?" I answered with, "I think I'm just looking.." Then he told me, "You need to buy something to help pay the rent. I don't answer questions." - Will never be going back. Was looking forward to establishing a business relationship C'est la vie.

We wanted to find a unique place to buy special rocks that was not a tourist trap. This place was a perfect little gem. So many unique beautiful rocks in any price range. The owners, Tom and Mae were so friendly and funny and knowledgeable. Really a joy to talk to. There are many beautiful oil paintings too that were painted by the owner. Do yourself a favor and stop by to meet some wonderful people and buy some beautiful rocks and minerals and paintings. We will be repeat customers whenever we are in town.

Just returned from The Mineral Adit Shop. Love this place! It is a, 'mom & pop' local business that has been in Old Colorado City for a while now.I love supporting local business and I found two great specimens to purchase and take home. You can tell the owners love rocks and people enthusiastic about rocks. They asked ME questions about my collection. I told Tom I was just beginning to build it. I found them delightful and knowledgeable. I plan to visit them again soon!

very pricy. you can go to pikes peak shop in cascade for WAY better quality of service and prices. I purchased a black goldstone for $10 here when I could've gotten it for $2. The whole store is this way, for a TINY tear drop shaped crystal, $5 per one. Not to mention we didn't get spoken to by the person at the desk, happened the two times I went.

I am absolutely in love with this shop. Every single time I go in I find the most unique treasures. The owner & his wife are the friendliest couple & very knowledgeable. Their selection is always impressive. I love that the owner is a painter too, he is so humble & very talented. I can't say enough good things about this place. Please consider giving them your business, they absolutely deserve it & I promise you will not be disappointed!
