This is a nice little park among a cluster of 2 others parks located near the town hall. It is just outside of the Manitou Springs tourist district and has metered street parking and a commercial lot around the parks perimeter. The park is relatively clean and features a life sized statue of a WWI solider, on a tall base, carrying his rifle with his other hand up in the air, and a howitzer gun. The park has a creek that runs along one side of it near the road. It also has a playground area with a medium sized jungle gym with bridges, slides, and spiral sliding poles. The playground area has a wood chip floor. The area's only other pieces of equipment are a mosaic enclosure that has a sand/dirt box and a bank of traditional/toddler/ADA swings. There are a few benches on the play area's perimeter for caregivers to sit and watch their littles play. The park has a decent amount of green space that can be used for picnics, playing catch or kite flying. This is not a destination park, but still a decent park to spend some time at if you are in the area. You can bounce between the other parks here or catch the free shuttle across the street to the Manitou Incline.

There are quite a few reasons to visit Memorial Park in Manitou Springs, but the most important ones for me are that this is where you can park for free, use the restroom, and hop onto the free shuttle to the Manitou Incline. Oh yeah, and you can taste one of the many free mineral water springs (Seven Minute Spring) that put this cute little town on the map as the "Saratoga of the West". If you've got kiddoes, you might wanna also know that there are a playscape and a creek for your pleasure. There are plenty of other places you *might* park if you are planning to climb the 1-mile staircase from Hades known as the Manitou Incline, but it won't be free AND it might be full when you get there. You might as well park on the street or lots around Memorial Park and take the easy shuttle to/from the trailhead. The public restrooms are located at the southwest corner of the intersection of El Paso Boulevard and Manitou Avenue, just past the creek. A free shuttle stop (#0455 for both routes 33 - Incline Cog and 36 - 925 Manitou) is on the other side of El Paso from the restrooms, next to an old locomotive engine monument. Another stop for Route 33 only is at the other end of the park on Old Man's Trail. Across the street from there is the stop for Route 3, which takes a rider to Colorado Springs.Find all about Memorial Park (and its sister parks) here:http://www.manitouspringsgov.com/government/departments/services/parkshttps://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=15/38.8578/-104.9180Learn more about the free shuttle service from Mountain Metro Transit here:http://manitousprings.org/whats-happening/parking-information/https://coloradosprings.gov/sites/default/files/rt33_36_sp2018.pdfhttps://coloradosprings.gov/sites/default/files/rt3_spweb2018.pdfLearn about the various springs and spigots where you can taste them here:https://manitousprings.org/mind-body/mineral-springs/http://manitoumineralsprings.org/pdf_files/brochure.pdfAnd find out about the Manitou Incline and adjacent Barr Trail (for getting down the mountain) here:https://www.pikes-peak.com/manitou-incline/https://manitousprings.org/incline-trail/http://www.manitouincline.com/trailhead-directions/http://www.inclinefriends.org/rules-and-regulations.html

Wow! Really cool! Skate park was great - The half pipe is as pro quality! We need more things for the kids And adults alike! So they have places to go That Are free and give back to us as a people showing what Our tax dollars are going to. To draw people outdoors , rather than Indoors . Confined to main stream fake news,And Godless TV shows And violent games. Conveniently placed in front of these AI nannies In the form of flat screens and Techno devices, That's no way to grow up ! kids need to be outside developing their talents Exercising their bodies and Developing their creativity. Go to the park ! enjoy! Peace Blessings

Well kept park. Great for relaxing with or without children. Access to the creek provides great opportunities for everyone to enjoy a quick foot soak or endless adventures for that wondering mind that ALL children have. If water is not your thing, try yoga in the shade while the children play on the well designed jungle gym or just kick back on a blanket or on one of the many available benches. Bring your dog? Well they supply the poo bags for your convience. My only complaint, no water source for drinking. However, even without the water, it is a great location with lots of shade and several options for play or relaxation.
