We just came to the park for the Colorado Springs lift off! The park was clean and a great venue for this event. Lots of people, but definitely worth the visit.

Amazing park! A+ Quite clean and well maintained. Cozy seating and sports sections, too. There is a tennis area, a golf dome, a skatepark, and a huge game field that sits adjacent to a small lake?! This park is GREAT! Quite large. Parking is available in lot or on side streets. The Labor Day Balloon Launch 3 day Festival was AMAZING!!Tons of vendors. Free to enter. Amazing balloons! Cool atmosphere. Friendly people. Early event is worth it! Highly recommend this park and event.

This park seems to have a reputation for being unsafe in some way, however I've never found that to be true. I've come here several times to take a stroll around the lake and most recently for the lantern festival. Many of those times I've been alone and I've never felt unsafe. This park offers an absolutely gorgeous view of our beloved Pikes peak, swings/seating around the lake, outdoor fitness equipment and plenty of fields. I've spotted many birds here including a crane and some adorable ducks. There is some bird excrement here and there, but it's to be expected with all of the birds. It's conveniently located right near downtown and there are many fun and family friendly events here. A beautiful place to catch the sunset!

This review is just for they playground area. The kids had a lot of fun here and jumped all around, playing hot lava with the tree-like platforms. The water is in the immediate vicinity and someone was fishing on the beach. The main play structure was good and they have a sand playset/area also. All of this is right next to the bathrooms and close-by parking. I read some of the other reviews, but we didn't see anything bad during our visit other than some litter.

The park itself is in need of a face lift, and or better maintenance. The lake is closed right now due to a toxic algae that is in the water, so if definitely does not smell right and people are not allowed to kayak or paddle board due to the health concerns. The Balloon Festival was pretty cool, it has a fair like atmosphere but once the balloons take off there is not much else to do. I do recommend coming for the Festival, it is quite the site to see. The park itself, is rather run down.

Pretty nice park. Its very spacious and has a lake in the center of it. All kinds of people come to this park. And I mean all kinds. It is not situated in the best of neighborhoods. You must be very vigilant when being in this park, especially during the more irregular hours. Lots of sketchy people hang around there and look like they are up to no good. Besides that, the actual memorial part of the park is very nice. Up kept and very clean. The bell in the center rings at about noon which is pretty cool. I have many members of my family that have served and currently are in the military. So it was nice to see that they have something dedicated to those that served and put their lives on the line for this country. The walk is pretty long. Nice, decent exercise just walking around it. Adults, kids and dogs all jump and play in the lake. There are also playgrounds and basketball courts. It would of been my definite go to spot had my wife and I not experienced being stalked and almost robbed during the middle of the day in the middle of the week.

This review is for the Hot Air Balloon festival. While it was fun and exciting, parking was a major cluster. It was a beautiful evening and Memorial park is huge with tons of green grass to bring a blanket and chairs to sit. The backdrop-all the beautiful mountains. The downer? Wind. So most of the balloons didn't even make it up in the air on this night:( The carnival atmosphere brought out some intriguing foodie stands selling SHARK ON A STICK. I'm not kidding! It was a big fried of question mark on a stick if you ask me. Yikes!A rock band played, lots of vendors selling glowing necklaces and light sabers (which we bought), Dunkin Donuts had a stand! Overall a fun night but a disappointing one too, we were looking forward to seeing the Darth Vader and Yoda balloons:( Oh, well, maybe next year.

I love this park - VERY large play ground for kids! A VERY large open green space to run and play. A really fun water feature in the summer! Gorgeous views! I would recommend coming here if you have children or grandchildren ages 2-10.

Memorial Park is a great, free family friendly destination in the middle of Colorado Springs - playgrounds, paddle boat rentals, walking paths, a fishing pier, skateboarding park, soccer, football and baseball fields, you name it and this park has probably got it. I love walking the lake (exactly 1 mile around so it's easy to keep track of how far I've gone) on warm weekend mornings, people watching and allowing the squirrels to taunt my leashed pup. We found snow cones for sale this past Sunday morning from an enterprising teenager who set up a booth, and I've seen other food trucks in the past keep park-goers full and happy.I do wish the lake was (officially) swimming-friendly and I'd like to see some upkeep on the fitness stations that are set up in stages around the lake. Also, if I had my druthers there would be more outdoor events like concerts in the park that would draw crowds in. Why not?Overall, glad to see my tax money is going to work, in part, for parks and services like Memorial Park. We'll be there often this spring and summer.

This is a huge park just east of downtown Colorado Springs. It has its own lake, ball fields, velodrome, ice rink, and skate park. You can do a lot at this park but I would say you need to do it in the daytime. It's a little shady on that side of town and who knows what happens there at dark but it doesn't seem good. It could be just rumors of stuff I have heard over the years but better safe than sorry. Also there are a lot of geese there and so the cement walk way near the lake is cover in goose crap. The place looks like you can get a great workout in just running around it.
