This is the 7 year old refused emergent medical care 9/10/22

Over the years LEC has had a monopoly on large animal care in the SW region of Metro Denver, and due to the scarcity of large animal care, this clinic has enjoyed little to no over site of their policies and procedures. The managing partners have lost touch with the needs of the community, the cost for far too many animals in need are out of reach. All businesses need to operate at a profit, however when profits are vast and care for animals in need in short supply, the scale is tipped and fiduciary responsibilities are dismissed. My personal experience with this establishment has been tentative at best. 15 years ago a beloved horse received a joint injection, the procedure was not sterile and the horse suffered a joint infection, which is a very serious medical condition. The vet that performed the procedure refused to accept responsibility for the botched injection and billed full charge for the substandard service. Another vet was brought in to save the horse and when we requested the fee be covered by the vet that mishandled the procedure, the request was denied Since that time we have refused care from that veterinarian. Over the years we have spend more that $100,000 on services at this hospital for our herd of rescue horses. During this time I have observed many mistakes made by the staff. When the mistakes were brought to staff attention, we were banned from visiting our horses. We simply brought the mistakes to staff attention to ensure the best possible care for our horses. We have been met with angst, and hostility from the staff at this hospital for being our horses medical advocates. Seems fragile egos and CYA policies to protect the reputation are more important that learning from staff mistakes. Today we called with an emergency, 7-old horse colicing, and we were refused care. We have always paid our bills, have no outstanding balance and are respectful while not always in agreement with policies. If you have a differing opinion about policy, this clinic is not willing listen, in fact you may be blackballed as we are. We are driving from Littleton to Fort Collins now with a horse in emergent need of medical Intervention, hoping she can make the trip. Shame on the egocentric nature of this hospital and their entire management team.Placing poor policies over animal care and denying care to an animal in need is unconscionable.

Best Of horse needs here nationwide. DrBeeman attending our Cash mare today for hock and steifel issues and discarded the steifel prob after lots diagnosing. Right hock will get surgery to fix an issue so as not to ever again require injections or other care. Had this done with another Dani girl lately and sure fixed. We will return for Cash in a week. Most wonderful group of professionals here.

For your sake, I hope your horse never has to visit LLAC, because illness or injury that can't be treated on a farm call usually is very serious. If you do have to bring your horse here, though, you can be assured of friendly, safe handling for your horse, kindness towards you, and high quality veterinary services.Everything from colic surgery to unusual lameness diagnostics is performed here. Shockwave therapy for bone disease, ultrasound, semen collection, MRI, intensive care, and chemistry are only a few of the services offered at LLAC. You don't get broader scope in equine veterinary medicine without going up to the CSU teaching hospital. Many independent vets operating out of a truck, rather than a clinic, refer clients here for complicated procedures.Prices can be a bit high, but in the horse world, what isn't expensive? Vets are willing to work with you, and for expensive medications like Gastroguard, LLAC's purchasing power allows them to offer lower prices than most outlets. My horse's gastric ulcers are currently being treated under the supervision of Dr. Lois Toll, a vet operating out of Littleton Large, and she understandingly prescribed an inexpensive alternative to the $32 a day medicine usually used for ulcers- he's taking a human medicine found at a Walgreens pharmacy and, knock on wood, feels much better now, thank you!Horse owners in the area trust LLAC for a reason- they're smart, kind, and have the latest technology to treat most anything.

My horse went to LEMC for an MRI, that I couldn't be there for due to a school schedule. They were great about keeping me abreast throughout the day, but they failed to communicate cost and payment policies before she got there. Everything worked out fine, but a little heads up would have been nice. They also forgot to send my horse's MRI to the radiologist for review... I was very nervous about the results of this imaging study and the fact that I had to call in to check on the status of the results and remind them to send them made me feel unimportant and forgotten about. The staff was very friendly, and the doctor's were very knowledgeable, but I'm not sure I'd go here again.

all about money and racking up a bill, zither scheduler is a real rude asshat, asked about a certain Dr , as every time I get someone different and 10 different opinions, She said "All booked for weeks' ok so who else is available on the subject, ? she replies All our vets are emergency vets if you want someone to come out" Me" oh so no matter what there is an extra emergency fee on top of your travel fee and already high prices and to date they don't know what is wrong with my horse? Well I don't know she says' , F you failed lady

Out of town competitors traveling to CHP beware! Unfortunately, with the rise of VSV everyone is being cautious not to transmit this to any other barn or state. Before leaving California to come to horse park I called Littleton Equine to make sure I would have everything in order for both arrival and departure from horse park. On Monday I was told by the office that it would be no problem to have a vet check 72 hours before leaving the horse park so we could return to California. Not to worry because there were vets on site and they really don't make appointments for this, that I would find someone at Horse park. Come Friday, there were no vets at the horse park, even though they are the vet clinic on-site for the facility. Upon calling the office on Friday I was informed that there were no vets available, it was not an emergency so they could not dispatch anyone. Saturday they only work 1/2 day and she had no one to send. It would have to wait until Monday. (We were leaving at 3:30 am Monday morning)So again, out of state travelers beware!

I cannot give enough praise for Littleton Medical and their staff. Being a pre-med student I ask every question ever, do lots of research, and call doctors constantly when my horse is sick. Two years ago my mare choked and was taken to their ICU where she was taken care of with EXCELLENT quality and treatment choices. This week she came up with strangles and mild purpura hemoraghica complications. They had come out several different times to my barn already and continued to be ever patient, helpful, and attentive as we sorted through all of her symptoms and treatment options. When we had to bring her to the clinic yesterday she was treated with such care, and the doctors continued to answer my questions, address concerns and offer every possible option both regarding her well being and fiscal options. I do not plan on having to ever use another equine vet clinic as long as I live here. Trust this staff because they are truly quality and care deeply.

We could not be more pleased with the services we received for our horse, Sirius Black. Everyone was friendly and very professional. Clear explinations of every step in the procedures preformed were given. Detailed steps for the at-home care were demonstrated. Every question was answered. As our horses continue to discover ways to hurt themselves, l am confident that the staff at Littleton Equine will be there to help.
