I'm looking forward to the Little Engine steaming up again. Good quality hot dogs and sausages. Service is attentive and conscientious. Benefits Audric children, giving them work experience and community. Staff is helpful finding a shady spot on a hot summer day.

Yum yum. Just the best hot dog place ever. And a neat place to patronize since it is a sheltered workplace for kids and adults with life challenges. Offers gluten free, organic, and vegan options.

We love coming to the Little Engine Eatery!!! The staff is wonderful and my daughter loves the hot dogs, which are organic nitrate free and they even have gluten free buns (for my daughter who has a gluten allergy)! The other specialty hot dogs are great as well!!Not only is it family friendly the Little Engine Eatery is a non-profit that provides teens and young adults with learning disabilities social and cognitive skills, job training and employment! Also the prices are like straight out of the 2000's (if i say 90's I predate myself)!!! Everything is under 7 dollars, there is another hot dog stand in town, who was charging more than that for gas station roller dogs!!It is a win-win!!

Fantastic menu of options including gluten free buns and muffins, vegetarian hotdogs, fresh popped popcorn with a dozen or so choices of flavoring. The brats and hot dogs were fresh and the grilled onions were superb. The kids loved getting to pick a popcorn flavor. To add to it, the folks running the eatery are friendly as can be!

Really cute spot with a great mission! The Chicago dog was delicious. I would definitely recommend stopping here for lunch even if you're just passing through.

I am so happy that we just happened upon this amazing little place! We were passing through Buena Vista and the place we typically go to had a very long line so we went to see what else we could find. This place was perfect! Little Engine Eatery is essentially a food truck, but an old train car instead. The menu is simple, but has high quality ingredients. My three kids and I all got the Chicago "L" dogs, and all of us were really impressed. They were absolutely delicious!! There are two tables outside with umbrellas that give you a nice shady place to sit. After eating, my kids and I all agreed that we would now always choose this place over the one that had been our go to since I was a kid 30+ years ago. It wasn't until we got home that I started reading more about the mission of Little Engine Eatery. We were already impressed, but the fact that it is actually a 501c3 created to give kids with developmental disabilities work experience made it even better! If you have the time, I recommend watching the short video on their website talking about how it started and their mission. What an amazing little gem!!
