Little Cambodia

We were pleasantly surprised to find SE Asian offerings in the middle of rural Colorado, though we realize Salida is a tad more metropolitan than most towns. My partner had the beef pho (yeah, they offered pho with chicken, shrimp, and tofu, too), and I had the somlaw machew, a Cambodian sour beef soup.My partner felt the pho was okay - there weren't traditional cuts you'd normally find in authentic pho, and he felt the meat was too chewy (and not rare like you'd normally get). My soup was tasty - great lemongrass, tamarind, and turmeric flavors - but the portion felt small for the price, and the beef could have been more tender. Plus, the side of rice that came with the soup was not nearly enough, and I had to ask for more. Also, I had a spring roll, chose grilled beef as the filling, and was disappointed by the watery dipping sauce.All in all, it was a nice option in Salida, if a little expensive (about 50% more expensive than what you'd pay in Denver). That said, I was impressed that we could even get this kind of food so far away from a big town.

So sad to experience such unimpressive food in such a great location. In years past, the food seemed completely different. I ate the entire meal for both of us since my spouse was so disappointed. She had been looking forward to visiting this once-favorite restaurant in downtown Salida. She only picked at her bun bowl and described it as "a solid glob of rice noodles" with little else. She tried to salvage her experience by later ordering egg rolls that were okay. I had noticed a difference in the food in later days of 2017 before they closed in the F Street location, but our food this visit was even less impressive. Wish that we had more options for Asian food in Salida these days.

The combo pho was amazing, probably some of the best I've ever had. We enjoyed the river front view as well! Looking forward to visiting again - hopefully soon!

This place is great.Quirky, food is amazingly flavorful, and owner is a tough cookie that aims to please.Love the Pho, boba, and basically everything I've tried on the menu.Def tiny but has a nice atmosphere whether dining inside or outside.I liked the cute counter indoors.Highly recommended!

surfer! Restaurant had closed last but returned in a larger setting. Everything is great. Spring rolls, pho. Be sure to check posters as there are things available that are not on menu, specials,seaweed salad, and squid marinated.So pleased thisvgreatbplace is back!

I love the food and new location of Little Cambodia in Salida, Colorado. The owner is very friendly and accommodating, the food is so delicious and the restaurant decor is inviting. Very affordable we will be returning soon!!!!

Very inviting and always great food. Authentic menu choices. They have been a regular favorite of ours for years!! Keep on cooking and we will keep on coming with our freinds!

This restaurant makes me want to move to Salida. The food was amazing, the little grocery section in the corner was fascinating, and all the people had such a great vibe. Including the customers.

Quirky hours (Monday Tuesday and Wednesday, 12-5pm), but the food makes up for it.The fried Mandu/dumplings were perfect. Savory., meaty and hot!The raw beef pho was some of the best I ever ate. It is bountiful, so come hungry.A plus; they serve bubble tea!!

Wonderful gem in Salida. Fantastic Chicken coconut soup. Great spring rolls. The Pho looks great as well. Cute space. We will be coming back!!!
