We had a nice time there and got lucky with having so many empty rooms the second night.Best way to do this is with pros and cons.Pros:1) private hot tub with a nice view 2) kitchen was equipped with wine/beer openers and a lot of dishes and utensils3) nice restaurants and a pond across the streetCons:1). KAROAKE BAR ACROSS THE STREET THAT STAYS OPEN UNTIL 2AM!!!! It's very loud at night!2) We had to walk up a very long flight of stairs to get to our cabin and it's hard with little kids.3) The cabins are very close together and it only takes one bad guest to ruin it for everyone.4) The WiFi wasn't very good and forget getting any cellular service. So it's great if you want a nice quaint spot to stay up late and booze it up. However, not a good choice if you want a quiet night.

We have been coming back annually for 12 years. The location is great to be off the beaten path but an easy drive to groceries and amenities. Hiking trails are as close as the end of the street. The city lake is across the street and the cabins are well maintained by a courteous staff and owner. Local food is good but the cabins have stove/microwave/grills also.

We stayed at Lakeside cottages for 1 night last weekend. It's a cute little place on the side of a hill overlooking a little lake. The price was great and the location was decent. The first bad thing (totally not their fault), there is a tavern across the street that had really loud karaoke until like 11 or 12 pm. Not great if you're looking for a quite evening. The cottage itself was pretty neat. It was clean and cute but really could use some upgrades. No AC, a really old TV, and just kind of old looking. Overall not horrible but not great. The worst part was the bed. It place we stayed had a bedroom and a pullout couch and the bed was hard as a rock. My back, shoulders, and neck were stuff and super sore the next day. I had to take Advil which only helped a little. My boyfriend joked that the floor probably would have been more comfortable. We wouldn't stay here again.

We loved the Lakeside Cottage Tree House we stayed in last week!!! Amazing view! The tree house was clean, roomy, and well equipped (full kitchen with china and silverware, outdoor chairs, grill, patio table, iron, extra blankets, tv, cable, wi-fi, lots of towels, and even a few walking sticks to choose from. No need for daily room service here. We loved the trails behind the tree house that took us all the way to the top of the mountain. The dirt road is steep but doable even in a front wheel drive sedan. Already looking forward to our next visit!

Place smelled so bad of pickles my kids called it the pickle palace, food was left in the fridge from past visitors and front door was stuck so bad we had to push like crazy to even get in! Paid $10.00 more per night for a mountain house with a view of pikes peak and wish we would have stayed there for the whole visit! The best thing we can say is with the exception of the smell and the food left was that the place was clean....
