La Casita Mexican Grill

2024 update: their pozole is freaking delicious. The pork is so tender and the flavor is on point, it may look spicy but it's not. It has that homemade comfort taste and is perfect under-the-weather food. I'll come here just for that and their sopapillas. The service has been really friendly. Maybe they changed ownership/management since my last visit.

So, this place is very much a fast casual kinda place. While you can eat inside, in the end it's kinda like a fast food place. That being said, the food quality is huge steps above fast food - but also don't expect restaurant quality. I've found the staff nice, considering it's a fast food place and the food quality was above my expectations (which might have been low). I think mostly you'll be happy here if you just understand what it is/is not.The tortillas were thick though, not so much of a thin corn tortilla. Almost naan like. I dunno if that's good or bad, but just what I noticed. But I'd come back to get a quick, cheap fix to my Mexican cravings.

The food reminded me of elementary school Cafeteria food. So bad to even call this Mexican food. Staff is friendly and the place looks clean, but the food is such a let down.

La Casita Location is in a large Pepto Bismol pink building, so you definitely won't miss it.I'm a sucker for fresh-made tortillas, so my BF suggested this place as we drove into town. He hasn't lived here in years but lovingly recalls their burritos and tortillas. We took his parents for an early lunch on a weekday and they come here more regularly and seemed to enjoy their food less than we did, so YMMV.I had the cheese enchilada plate, BF had a burrito, we shared the green chile. Parents had a taco salad and a combo plate. The red sauce on the enchiladas was closest to the Tex-Mex style I'm used to, and I liked their tortillas - flour, not to thick or too thin. Note that their burritos are the smaller, more traditional style. The green chile was also good.I like that they have a cute patio, and traditional art on the walls - we sat by the parrot. Their salsa bar is currently closed, for obvious reasons. Silverware, napkins, etc are self-service.

I've tried this place twice and both times ended up with food poisoning. They must be leaving there shredded chicken out to long. I didn't want to Rick it again but maybe the first time was a fluke but same thing upset stomach. This place is not worth going too and I tried it different times months apart.

(2025 update) We used to live in the area, so we would grab food here every now and again. When we pulled up today however, we found that there was a huge wait for some party that had just shown up. So we waited for a good while and when they got back to us, we were greeted by the kindest people who had given us upgrades on our order! The food tasted great and it made my week to have such a sweet experience. Thank you y'all!

I am so sorry that I have to tell you that my experience on Tuesday, August 13 at 6:30 to 7 PM for Drive up service was not good. The employees taking the order and presenting my order and accepting payment were just fine. They were hard-working individuals. however they unfortunately bore the responsibility of delivering cold undercooked food. Two super Mexican plates were ordered, and in both the cheese enchilada was not heated up enough to melt the cheese inside the enchilada. The tortilla itself around the enchilada was hard to cut with a fork because I don't think it ever had a chance to soften up. The ground beef taco as well was served cold, but the rice and beans turned out to be the warmest things in the combo. La Casita used to be decent, but they have really slipped. Bye-bye La Casita Mexican Grill, I will not be back.

We've gotten our tortillas here for years because, although quite salty, they taste just like ones my mother used to make. We stopped in last Saturday, Aug 10th, on the way home from Denver. My guest had a smothered burrito, which was smothered only on one side, and covered by lettuce and a little bit of cheese on the other half. I made the mistake of ordering the tostada ($3.49!) since I wasn't that hungry by early afternoon. It consisted of two corn tortillas (one beneath) with about 2 regular tablespoons of barely seasoned refried beans and a tablespoon of cheese and no chile of any kind. Very small portion of very bland food not worth half the outrageous price. If I ever choose La Casita again, it will never be this one. I needed a plug in for my O2 machine and I think we interrupted the silver haired manager(?) who seemed to be watching the Olympics. There's a sign saying to let the staff help you grab a take out cup for your drink and he came from the tv again to give me a cup right in front of me so I could pour my drink in. Red Robin and Chilis will usually put yours into a paper cup and fill it up. If you still insist on eating here, please don't waste your money on the above items. Maybe a different day or evening just not Saturday afternoon. I'd suggest Taco Bell!

Bland. Boring. If you don't like spicy or taste then go here. They need to add a letter to their name.. La Ca$hita!

La Casita has been a staple around here for so long. Our family has enjoyed many meals over the last years, however quality and service has really decreased. It's cost prohibitive to take a family for a meal, the employees are not friendly, and I leave wondering about cleanliness. Most recently, I order a salad with no tomatoes and paid $15 for the wilted lettuce and a handful of cheese in the photo. Sad to see the down-slide of a well loved local spot.
