Absolutely gorgeous weekend this past Saturday to see the leaves. All the lots were so crowded but we managed to find parking. Everywhere was so crowded but still worth it to see the beautiful leaves. Definitely recommend in the fall.

This area is just a grand area to Hike, Backpack, Snowshoe, and see the Autumn Colors...and yes I've done all.Part of the CT, Kenosha pass can give you many options: You can do the easy east part with a gentle slope of 400 feet and two miles, go the West and do a nice 10 mile hike/snowshoe, visit Chair rock, Little Scraggy peak, or Hike all the way down to the North Fork South Platte River ( Great fishing too). Two nice parking lots and easy to get to from Denver.

It looks like I probably did the short, off-road end of this pass, but it was good. You definitely need some ground clearance for this, as my small SUV scraped three or so rocks along the way. There was a portion that runs along private property, clearly labeled, and a water crossing that was fun. The pull off near the end had some good views and some rocks to jump around on. At the end of the trail is a parking spot, if you want to hike, and all along the way are camping spots. At some point, I'll have to find the paved portion of this road.

Just about an hour and a half from north Denver. It was a beautiful drive up and once at the pass...crowded. It might have been the 50-60 degree sunny day but it was crowded. The campground was closed so we walked through that area first. Once on the trails we climbed and enjoyed the trees. There were too many there that were not there for the hikes based on how they were dressed. We decided to go off the trail and climb along the power lines. The views were to die for and listening to the aspen leaves rustle was so relaxing.Worth the drive and the hike but it is steep and people, wear hiking boots not sneakers!

There are no bathrooms or trash cans at this trailhead. So be forewarned. Be prepared to pack out what you pack in. INCLUDING your dog poop bags!!! Please do not leave you bags for other people! Saw a gazillion bags at the trailhead and it was so sad. If i had been in my own car i would have done some trail clean up because that was so not okay. There was also a CRAP TON of people here omg. cars for lines and lines. there were several parking lots and all of them full and along side teh road......So. many. people.Aside from all that, the colors were beautiful and i loved being on the colorado trail! after we got further on the trail there was less people and it became more peaceful. I will definitely be back in the future to do this segment of the trail. so much beauty! and lots of yellow i can see why its a popular spot for fall colors.

Even on a dreary, chilly day, late in the leaf peeping season - Kenosha Pass still managed to charm the pants off me! No, not literally. Figuratively of course!Kenosha Pass offers some epic Aspen groves to get your "Colorado Gold" fix in the fall. So I made my way to 10,000 feet this past weekend to soak up that gorgeous fall foliage. It did not disappoint! Though I was not the only one with this idea. I arrived early (around 9 am) on Sunday and by the time I was leaving (at 11:30 am) the trails were quite busy. I highly recommend arriving early. While Kenosha Pass is something to see in the fall; it has really got something for everyone year-round! In the summer months it boasts camping on either the East or West side of the pass. There is a $6 day use fee for camping. There's plenty of hiking trails in the area; including a portion of the Colorado Trail! For those OHV or mountain biker's out there; some of the trails allow you to tear up some dirt too! I'd imagine that during the winter months it also would offer some excellent terrain for snowshoeing as well. I plan on heading up to check that out this winter for sure!I will definitely be back to check out more of Kenosha Pass and all it has to offer!!

This is an amazing spot to go for Fall colors, specifically aspens! I was just so great to go walking through all the trees with the sunlight glistening off the leafs. It was pretty magical! I took several photos but I don't think those really do justice. Also, if you are into hiking you could take the Colorado Trail for about 10 miles where you come across different patches of aspens and where you get some great views. This area is especially great if you're into photography. I saw many people with tripods taking all sorts of photos. I had my SLR with me as well. This is definitely worth it if you're looking to spend an afternoon enjoying the fall colors, hiking, and/or taking photography!

I was here on October 3, 2017. It was gorgeous, and the weather was perfect. Not too hot, not too cold. Had a lightweight Patagonia jacket and a flannel shirt. It had snowed a little the day before, so there were some muddy areas, but overall definitely worth the trip. I went on a weekday specifically to avoid the crowds, which was perfect, as I ran into maybe 10 people total in the entire 3 hours I was there. Parking was easy and relatively empty, directly at the entrance to the trailhead. Not a large elevation gain, so a pleasant hike. Great for photos.

Beautiful trees this time of year. Pretty popular area, but there was enough parking along the road. Bathrooms are available as well. Great for pictures and walking. Dogs are also welcome.
