This is a wonderful place! The staff really loves children and of course the horses. The horses are very well loved and cared for. My daughter has attended writing classes and three summer camps here. We love it.

As as professional equestrian and life long horse person I've had a lot of experience in different "equine settings". 2 stars is generous. While this place is convenient to suburbanites, I as a person and an equestrian am very disappointed in the care of the school horses. Many are way to old to still be ridden and most of them are clearly over-worked. While this might be a decent place to start riding if you've never done it before, I'd look elsewhere. There are too many horses on the property - and not enough turn-out in my opinion. It speaks a lot of an equestrian facility when their animals are cared for properly and well. After all it's the horses that bring in the money - and without them, training facilities wouldn't go very far. All that said, they do have some great independent trainers but you must either have your own horse or be leasing one in order to work with them as many of them are higher level trainers with more experienced students. There are enough choices out there if you're a beginner and want to learn to ride, most of them worth a drive.

I 've had my horse here for more than 8 years. At 58, I learned to ride here on an older horse who was very calm and very well trained. After I got my own horse, I continued to take lessons on my own horse. Here you can ride your horse thru the hogbacks because there are lots of trials for horses, mountain bikes and hikers. Beautiful! The horse stables are clean and well cared for. The stalls are cleaned daily. The community has preserved the original barn plus the tack houses are former ranch hands bunk houses.

Really, I don't know why people have a problem at this place. I came from a stable which was pretty much a shack and their school horses got used 3-4 times a day with most of them being in their late twenties. Most of the school horses here are in their early to late teens, which is perfectly fine. They are ony used at the VERY most 2 times a day. There is plenty of space for the horses and riders. There are many options of where to board your horse- large pasture, small pature, pipe pen, shed with run, regular stall and large stall. They have a medium sized jumping area and two other small arenas that open up into each other to create a pretty big arena. The indoor arena is breath taking and HUGE. The instructors are really great and there is a large variety of personalities, I am quite positive that at least one instructor will fit you. The bottom line is that the facility is clean, the horses are very well cared for, the instructors are awesome, and there is a lot of fun to be had.
