Janny's Tailor Shop

I just went in to have a military name tape sewn on to a sleeve of my backpack. She "Janny" I'm assuming, initially refused to help me, then proceeded to come up with every excuse to not help me. Even going on to saying she doesn't take AMEX, when I told her I had Visa she said she doesn't take that either. Cash only. Laughable looking at her card machine. Anyways, she exhausted me with her excuses and horrendous attitude, so I just left.

From military uniforms to full on suits, she does amazing work. I was on a very tight timeline and she stayed late almost an hour getting my suit done same day. Extremely knowledgeable and I don't care what other people say. She's 100% worth what she pays. I take everything to her and just tell her to make me look good!

Janny was great ! Hammed my pants and did great job. Paid cash and it was done on the same day too! Will be taking all my alterations there from now on .

She's expensive asf not worth going here. I asked if she could iron my shirt and she never did.

Call to get an idea of the amount of time/money that would be involved taking a zipper out of the top of the wedding dress and changing it to a corset back. Person on the phone responded "no I don't like to do anything with corset back" now I've called a couple of places that got good reviews online seeking this information and obviously will not be going to this one. This is a pretty common change on wedding dresses and apparently either outside of the willingness or skill of the shop.Seeing as the person on the phone does not "like" to do this I will be scheduling an appointment with a place that actually wants my business

Simply the best! If you need tailoring you will get a professional job at a fair price and in a timely manner.

Wow, this place has really gone downhill. About nine years ago, I brought in several uniforms and jackets (military and law enforcement) to have some patches sewn on, and they did a great job. Today, I brought in a leather vest and a shirt, which would have been a simpler job, but it was obvious they were not interested in doing it. She didn't even take time to look at the patches. Maybe it's time to retire???

Took my daughter's prom dress spring of 2023. Only needed to fix the lower side/slit repaired. Didn't really think of it at the time but she charged $27. Pricey, but did a good job. I went in today 9/19/23 to see about having her make alterations/zipper side so the fit was a little more tighter on my dress. From the get go she started saying how the dress wasn't made correctly and the fact she was going to have to work with the zipper area it was going to be expensive. I was getting the impression, when she was explaining all this she was either disinterested or just flat out didn't want the work. You can tell when someone is not into their work anymore. Of course I'm going to ask for the cost. She quoted me $150.00!! for a dress I paid $48 for lol. Yeah no! That's a bit ridiculous. Won't be using her services ever again. I think it's time for you to retire Janny!

Everything about my experience at this place was extremely unprofessional. I came in to try to get a dress hemmed for an upcoming family wedding. I put on the dress with the heels that I will be wearing and showed the woman working (Janny, I assume) how the dress still dragged on the floor. I was worried about the dress getting caught on my heels and tripping. Janny insisted that the dress didn't need to be hemmed because if she made it any shorter it would no longer be "formal" length. (I am quite familiar with formalwear and have no idea what she was talking about. The dress was too long for me to comfortably walk in.) Janny spoke to me extremely dismissively and rudely, insisted that I just didn't know what length formal dresses were supposed to be, and refused to hem the dress. I told her that I frankly don't care how long she wanted the dress to be, as I am the one who will be wearing the dress and want to give her money to perform a service. After rolling her eyes at me, Janny said she could only hem the dress either one or four inches, nothing in-between (for the record, this dress is made entirely out of very simple, solid-colored polyester and rayon fabric, with no lace or any trim or pattern at the hem). I said, fine, hem the dress one inch, please. She then told me that hemming the dress one inch would cost $60. I told her that that price seemed quite high based on experiences I have had getting dresses hemmed at other tailors. Her response was "well that's why you shouldn't spend all your money because the dress does not need to be hemmed". She clearly did not want my business. Just after this exchange, a military man walked in to get his uniform altered and Janny left me standing there in my dress to go talk to him. She continued to ignore me while talking to him, so I just changed my clothes and left. For this woman to have the pretentious attitude that she does is especially ironic given the fact that her place is a dump. The fitting rooms are tiny with visible dirt and grime buildup on the floor and walls. She should probably start off with mopping her floors if she is going to act as if some people are not worthy to receive service from her. The bottom of my feet turned black from standing barefoot on the fitting room floor while changing my shoes (as there was no where to sit down). I had to immediately wash off in the tub when I got home. Altogether just a really nasty experience. I guess if you're military, Janny will take care of you. For the rest of us, she is not interested. She should probably just advertise herself as a military uniform tailor, as she does not have the skill level or the attitude to be working with formalwear clients.

Whenever I need some sewed on quickly, Janny's is the first place I go to and she's never let me down.
