Howdy Homemade Ice Cream - Aurora

I found this place in the Aurora, Co magazine I found at my hotel.We arrived and were greeted shortly after. The staff were so friendly. We sampled various flavors of ice cream before purchasing. They have some really cool and unique flavors! If you wonder what it would taste like, just ask them.The ice cream is homemade and everyone except the owner and one employee have disabilities (the mag said intellectual and developmental, but the person I spoke with said developmental, I believe). Either way, they are giving people a chance to build marketable skills they may not get otherwise.The store has a fun feel and vibe to it. It's colorful and has plenty of space to sit inside or out.This is a must visit ice cream shop. It's worth the trip!

First ice cream is great! Get on over to Howdy and try this place. Ambiance is fun, clean, and service is friendly. What really sets this place apart is its mission. I took a picture of it to share on Yelp. I love seeing companies focus on hiring, training, and supporting our communities just like Howdy. What a special place to be able to have great ice cream and support those with special needs.

Sometimes you just got to treat yourself and getting ice cream at Howdy Homemade ice cream is the way to do it! I got their chocolate banana flavor. It was delicious!My husband got their mint flavored ice cream in the mint waffle cone. I had a taste and it was very good. It was neat that they had waffle cones in multiple flavors! That may have been the only time that I have seen that before! Everyone left feeling happy after our treat at Howdy Homemade Ice cream.Make sure to get one of their punch cards! Every visit you get a punch and when you visit 10 times you get to spin their wheel to win something! What a great incentive to keep people coming back! Also there is a check in reward with yelp for a free waffle cone!

This place is awesome. Gives opportunities and awareness to people with disabilities. Gives profits to organizations that support them. Service is friendly, and so helpful. Always a smiling face greeting you here. Unique flavors without being too over the top like a lot of the trendy ice cream shops lean into. On this visit, our group had:- strawberry milkshake- Mexican chocolate - candy cane- cold brew cookie (I can't remember the actual name, sorry!)We all had a scoop of each, which was plenty serving size wise! And my son asked for a cone on the side, which he proceeded to break then use to scoop his bites with. They have different cone flavors, but we got the cinnamon, which tasted kind of like eating a churro with your ice cream. Everything we tried was creamy and delicious! Will definitely be back again! Recommended!

I went here with my grandkids to celebrate the end of school. What drew me was my students told me they had Dr. Pepper ice cream. My grandson LOVES Dr. Pepper. The two people working at the shop were pleasant and helpful. The ice cream was tasty, and they have flavored waffle cones.The shop has a mission to hire people with physical and intellectual disabilities. I like that. The cones were pricey, but not terribly out of line with ice cream shops. I don't mind paying a little extra to support their mission.

Great ice cream shop. We love the thoughtfulness behind the shop and the ice cream was great! My nephew got the strawberry milkshake and I got the chocolate as all get out. We both really enjoyed our ice cream. The service was friendly and pretty quick. The ambiance was cheerful and bright and very clean. They have an indoor and outdoor space which we also appreciated! Would come back again!

The ice cream here is incredible! We sampled several flavors before buying cups and cones for 6 and all were amazing!

I think I got the Cookie Monster flavor? Anyway it was awesome. Small place that deserves more love.

If I could leave more than 5 stars I would! Howdy's is truly so delicious. The ice cream is homemade on sight. The only thing better than the ice cream is Howdy's mission to "create jobs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities". I LOVE HOWDY'S. EVERYONE SHOULD GO!
