Amazing 360° mountain views.
At the summit.
The recommended route is counter clockwise and we did clockwise. Here is where the trail splits. No markings.
Right at this dip is the counter clockwise way.
Another picture perfect view!
Panoramic view about half a mile up the trail. Elevation was about 11,500-12,200 feet.
Great view on sunny days! You can see very far out into the distance!

We stopped for a photo op, which didn't disappoint. Please allow for extra time if you decide to hike. The air is a little lighter when you're above 11,000 feet.

We stopped here briefly en route to Fairplay if I recall. The wind up here was whipping so be prepared and make sure your hat is on tight. Parking is ample. Some of the lot is uneven so drive carefully. There were a ton of selfie tourists in the area so watch out as they tend to walk haphazardly into oncoming cars without care. Grrr!!!I didn't venture too far unto the trails but saw they were well marked. I didn't see any restrooms, but I wasn't there long enough to explore fully.

Great place to go hiking. I would rate this an an easy trail. You can hike, cross country ski and there are tails for off roading vehicles as well. I recommend going on a sunny day, the views are amazing! We went hiking while there was still snow in the ground. If you are looking for an easy hike with great views I highly recommend this one!

Nothing more beautiful then the view from the summit. Bring your camera, and oxygen if your not accustomed to altitude.

Closest point of interest to check in when I am at my cabin. My happy place. The 11500 continental divide.

Beautiful scenic views on a road like trail. In fact you can jeep or four wheel the trail easily. You can even hike or drive up and camp with NO amenities but it's gorgeous and so easy to car tent camp even with kids. Only down side is the altitude. My 8yo and I could not make the entire loop due to altitude. Someone listed this as an easy family hike. I can see this is true in every way except if altitude affects you at all. We made it to an elevation of 12,200. Btw it's all free!

It's just a trail, it's not national park to have restrooms, concrete parking or to be accessible with car everywhere. Trail is marked good and views are great It's easy, loop hike trail and if you make a full loop you will enjoy in beautiful views. It's possible to go easy off trail and higher if you want to have better views. It's windy and it's high, and if you are little baby who will cry because of that than skip it and go to Rocky Mountain national park over there is everything accessible by bus and restrooms are everywhere. Across the street from parking is a easy steep path that leads to the top of mountain. We didn't make it all way to the top because of weather, but views are amazing.
