We did a tour with Ralph this week and absolutely loved it! He is a great guide and was able to answer all of our questions, very knowledgeable and kind. His wife works in the gift shop and is a sweet sweet lady. The building is beautiful and full of history, it is a hidden gem in Canon. I would highly recommend it for adults and older children.

We are here for a reunion and staying in the "Sisters house"Sweet, charming place to stay with or without children. Very welcoming. You feel right at home! You cannot beat the price. It has a common kitchen downstairs, 12 rooms that each sleep 1 to 4 guests, three common restrooms with showers or bath. A lovely backyard and patio area that we ate under, from catered food by chefs at the Abbey. The food was fantastic! Brenda was amazing organizing everything we needed. Just the place to stay where you can rest, relax and feel at home. Close to walmart, ect.

Disclaimer: I graduated from the Abbey in 1968 and might be a little prejudiced although this particular facility was not built at that time.We had our 50th reunion and the facility worked very well for us.We had three functions scheduled here during the weekend.Friday night was a cash bar and finger food. The cash bar was the most reasonable one I have ever used. Glenlivet was $5.50 and I am used to paying more like $10 for this premium single malt.Saturday night was dinner. Menu was specified as Beef Medallions, Abbey salad with blue cheese crumbles and chocolate lasagna. I liked that there was none of the chicken, beef, fish or vegetarian crap. I presume that if someone needed vegetarian that they could call in or just get by, but I've seen too many places where the service gets held up trying to get the right plate to the right person. This system works. Likewise, the salad came already dressed with blue cheese crumbles on the table for those of us who liked to augment the excellent flavor with bursts of cheese. There was no pasta in the desert, it was good and had a clever name.Sunday morning brunch was buffet style with an omelet station. I had an excellent omelet, the hash browns and bacon were offered from warming trays and seemed fresh. I was planning on the omelet and avoided the rest. One of the things I liked is that the price of $120 per couple was all-inclusive, I didn't have to figure out what I was going to attend when I made my reservation. The only quibble I had was the name tags could have used a larger font and a much bolder largest font for first names. We are old people with bad eyesight and failing memories and we see our classmates only every five years or so. Although I might come annually now, I had such a good time.

Fun place for pictures but we couldn't go inside. :( The winery next door is great so it can be worth the drive if you like wine!

I stayed at the gym where the room scared me because the walls had 1 inch cracks, the ceiling tiles where moldy, and there was water leaking through. The gutters where so dirty there where bushes growing out of them. Another issue was the copious amounts of mold which got most people sick. In conclusion I had a very negative experience.
