Great place to escape for a snowy day! Located south of the city adjacent to Deer Creek Canyon Park and Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield. This park provides great parking and access to hundreds of acres of open space, trails, picnic space and park land. We took the dog and xcountry skis. Numerous trails to choose from that are quiet and right against the base of the Morrison Formation. We did an out and back that gave us almost 4 miles of skiing along the power lines in fresh snow and passed no one. The trailOptions would have allowed for a much longer ski if we wanted. I think this would be a decent spot for some beginner mountain biking as well all year round.

Nice park with a good length trail. It's not shaded at all so it gets hot. Plenty of parking. The trail goes through a neighborhood and doesn't stay in the park if you do the whole loop.

Seeking a change of scenery not far from home, the hubs and I loaded up our pup and made our way to Hildebrand Ranch Park to soak up some sun and catch up with our friend Kristin M.Star #1: Seeking something not terribly strenuous for an afternoon adventure? The paths are wide and well-marked making it a very accessible park for all levels of adventurer.Star #2: Looking to hike, bike, or horseback ride? Yeah, you can do all that here! Star #3: Want to bring you furry-friend for a little adventure? Leashed dogs are welcome - just make sure you're taking advantage of the many waste stations to help keep the park clean for everyone! While it made a great way to get some sun and a bit of exercise, it's not quite what I tend to seek for my adventures. Hildebrand Ranch Park definitely served its purpose and fit the bill of what we were seeking this past weekend.

My friends and I were out on hiking expeditions southwest of Denver, and we stopped at Hildebrand Park. It's very close to the botanical gardens south of the metro. The park is grassy open spaces, in contrast to the other parks we'd driven through, with some gentle sloping hills. There are trails of varying lengths; because it was late in the afternoon, we opted for a shorter loop. As we walked, we came upon a prairie dog town, and my hiking companions were entranced; they were from the East Coast and had never seen them in the wild! They were adorable, and we stood for a while watching them. They had their sentries with the high-pitched whistles to tell the rest of the community we were there, but we were still able to get close enough to some of them to get good photos. It was a lovely way to end our day of hiking, just outside the Denver metro area. We'll definitely be back!
