What a fun little place to have some authentic Poke. Ask him what "Haole-style" means if you want a little laugh. The owner is nice and very approachable and you can tell is from Hawaii. The vibe is killer and the servings (fish) was huge! You can definitely get filled up on a sub-$20 bowl. The music is a little loud so don't come here for a work meeting or if you're not trying to just vibe out and there isn't a great selection of beer so maybe it's better for a lunch stop. What keeps this place from being a top-rated location, in my opinion, is the double-portioning. You'll be asked if you want to double up on protein when you order a bowl and it's not mentioned anywhere on the menu (not from what I could easily see). And despite not getting a receipt, from what I could tell, doubling up on protein meant doubling the price of the bowl! My bill went from a $17 bowl and a beer to being over $40 before tip! Wowzers. It gives you a bit of a feeling of dishonesty. But the doubling up isn't necessary and a simple refresh of the menu would fix this!

Their website is not up to date with what they are servicing in person. I wanted kalbi and came just for that and it had been replaced with pineapple ribs (and I'm allergic to pineapple, so couldn't try). It was a little strange to have the sauce on the katsu chicken, but overall both types of chicken were good. There was ample rice and the staff was very nice. However, having peas in Mac salad is very odd to me.

We attempted twice to try the food. We passed on the first time as the wait was 40 mins. This was located in a food court called The Coati. It looks like a very trendy food court with more food choices. We ordered the chicken curry with sauce on the side. The chicken remained crispy. The macaroni and cheese is sooo good. We went back the third time just to get a side order. Our other food choice was not as good. The poke for $16 wasn't worth the money. It was not a meal. More like a side order. The spam musbi was way too salty. We appreciate the big piece of spam, but the flavor just didn't balance. It was salty from the spam and too sweet from the sauce. I would go again to try their other food in the menu and get some more of their Mac and cheese. Lol. ..

This spot is located in COATI uprise. There is metered parking within a reasonable walking distance, but it is at a premium on weekends. I had to drive around for a bit before I was finally able to snag one. They have an efficient menu that includes teriyaki steak, coconut shrimp, poke bowls, Hulu Hulu chicken, beef short ribs, pineapple cobbler, coco-cornbread, and musubi. The staff there was very friendly. They greeted me as I approached the stand, which is located about halfway in on the left as you enter the food court. They gave me a sample of the Huli Huli chicken and I was hooked. I ended up ordering some Huli Huli Chicken, which came on a bed of slaw, with macaroni salad and two scoops of rice. I was so excited that I got a side of spring rolls and musubi as well. Being in a food court, there is tons of seating available. They also have bar seating along the front of their stand. I waited about 20 minutes for my food and it was Luke warm at best. The staff was very apologetic about the long wait, but the food was still cool. Even though it was a tad cool, it was still tasty and flavorful. It was also filling, and I could not eat all of it. I had to take some of it with me. On a side note, the food court turns into like a club on weekend nights and if that is not your thing, you may want to try this place on weekdays or during the day on weekends. Other than my meal being cool, I enjoyed my meal here. I hope that my food being cool was an anomaly. They have some great service and good Hawaiian food. I would definitely eat here again and recommend checking this place out.

Great tasting meal- more food than I needed. Nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to ahi or poke in general, but there was a bit more spice than I'm used to- which I very much enjoyed.Great flavor- only complaint is the price is a bit higher than most but I am from out of town so it could be just what I'm used to! $18 for the ahi tuna bowl with extra fixings ($3 up charge).

On a recent Saturday Latin Grooves night at COATI, a co-op type food and beer hall space. I noticed the hilariously named Haole Hawaiian just down from the Korean and Cajun counters and made a mental note that I would return to check it out soon when I was hungry. Fast forward a couple of weeks when fate put me at a red light behind a red Mustang with a yellow "I [HEART] SPAM" bumper sticker and just a short time later, took me to the same neighborhood as COATI for som ono grindz, namely, the huli huli chicken plate and a Spam musubi to go (you know, for breakfast the next day). When I arrived around 6:30 p.m., no one was behind the counter and another customer walked up at the same time I did. We both perused the menu and then some employees appeared. The other guy ordered first. I couldn't decide between huli huli chicken or Kalua pork, so I asked the cashier what he recommended. Behind him on a tiny grill were two butterflied chicken thighs. He motioned to them and said the chicken because it was already on the grill. Sounded good to me (even though in my house, the Kalua pork cooks overnight and is always at the ready), so I went for it. He asked for my phone number, which I assumed--correctly--was to notify me when my order was ready. Side note: this is brilliant and much more sanitary than those old-school plastic buzzers that tend to break or grow legs. I learned the counter doesn't serve any drinks, but just to the left of the register is hand sanitizer, clear plastic cups, and a water dispenser. If you're in the mood for something stronger, the bar at the far right/back has everything you'd want (I don't recommend the house wines, though). After paying (about $20), I got some water to share with my pup, who had tagged along with me, then found a seat nearby where I could watch my order come up. In almost no time, the guy who ordered right before me got his tray, which led me to--wrongly--think my order would be close behind. I went back to the water station for a refill (Zumba is dehydrating, y'all) and glanced at the counter, but there was no sign of my chicken. In the meantime, the hubs and I were racing to see whose order would come up first (he ordered GF chicken wings one counter down). He even went to the bar and ordered a soda and then got a refill before my order was finally ready. But since good things come to those who wait, I knew it was gonna be worth it, and I was right. My order was actually on two separate trays, so I asked if they could put the musubi in a to-go container since I wouldn't be eating it there. The cashier kindly obliged and put it in a plastic container. The presentation was much fancier than any plate lunch in the islands--it came on a metal tray, with the chicken pre-sliced and on a heaping bed of freshly chopped cabbage next to two scoops of white rice with furikake seasoning on top along with a scoop of beautiful mac salad. Once at my seat, I immediately went for the beckoning carbs, i.e., the mac salad. Flavor was A++, y'all! The macaroni held its shape and had not been overcooked (whoo hoo!), there wasn't too much mayo, and it even had a few bright green peas in there to make me feel like I was being healthy (ha). It was topped with a nice sprinkling of paprika, giving it added flavor. My only minor critique is that it seemed as if some of the noodles had dried out a bit in the last few hours. But honestly, it was the best damned mac salad I've had on this continent in years. After those first few bites, I moved onto the main attraction. The chicken was tasty, cooked well, not too dry and not greasy. It was also not overly sweet, which tends to happen when chicken has been marinating in pineapple juice. Unlike the chicken I eat at food trucks and drive-ins in Hawaii, this one wasn't overly charred either and wasn't a huge portion. It came with a side of shoyu that contained sliced green onion, which I poured over the cabbage and rice in the hopes of giving everything a nice coating. Because the cabbage was roughly chopped, the heat from the chicken didn't cause it to wilt, so the sauce helped it not be as dry. I gave the pup the thicker, crispier chunks of cabbage, which she happily crunched. The next morning, I heated up the musubi and enjoyed it with some coffee (would have preferred Lion vanilla-mac nut coffee from a Hawaii 7-Eleven, though). Bottom line: This place is excellent and I highly recommend it. Minor deductions for the unnecessary second scoop of rice and dry, thick cabbage.

Tried today , not too bad however, I would recommend that you do not get the ribs !! The price to serving amount is pretty expensive ( 21 dollars for not even a quarter of a rack of ribs ) . The ribs tasted like they have sat out all day .

Coming from Hawaii myself, I was happy to finally find a place with not only great tasting food but also the Aloha spirit! Sure the staff and owner may not be Polynesian but the vibe of the restaurant and taste of the food was on point! I've lived in Colorado for 8 years now and I'm glad to have found this place! And yes, it's wayyy better than the L&L in the springs. Hands down the best Chicken katsu I've had so far in Colorado! You gotta check 'em out! Definitely a good spot for a date, take the kids out for dinner or to have a lunch with your colleagues.
