Hammonds Pastrami & Delicatessen

I stopped by Hammond's today and ordered a prime rib sandwich (pictured) and a pastrami sandwich to go for my husband. The prime rib sandwich was a true standout. The beef was tender and melted in my mouth. It was one of the finest I've ever had. My husband was equally pleased with the pastrami sandwich. Check out the menu and don't hesitate to try one of everything because these fine people know what they are doing.

The first thing that's confusing here is the multiple overlapping branding. When Trails End Taproom took over the Mason Jar, they tried to do a strange hybrid, offering some of their old Taproom faves along with Mason Jar's Chicken Fried Steaks.Then they gave up and brought in another vendor to provide the food: Felipe's 109. Mid-level burgers (and taco burgers) for decent prices.That apparently didn't work out so they contracted Chuckwagon 719, a BBQ place off Powers to provide the food, and they apparently rebranded Hammond's Pastrami & Delicatessen and the Seared Steer Steakhouse.Who is providing the food is important. That would tell me who to blame.On opening day today, my wife and I spend $46 for lunch: regular sized (they had been called a half) pastrami and prime rib sandwiches, and a side sauce. 2 waters.I would gladly spend this much for sandwiches at Katz's in NYC. But this wasn't Katz's. It wasn't Colonel Mustard's or Eastcoast Deli. This was nothing but disappointment.The quality of the meat seemed good, but it was lukewarm and not trimmed. At least 30% of my sandwich was fat. Once I opened the sandwich and did my own surgery on it, it was almost enough for a meal. I left the plate of fat, and told them about it. They apologized but offered no remedy.My wife had the "prime rib" sandwich. Cold roast beef topped with unmelted cheese.The Taproom has some of the best beers found anywhere, and it's certainly worthy of better.

Oh my! This place is really yummy! I had the pastrami reuben sandwich and hubby had a brisket sandwich. We both had a side of potato salad. We both loved our food. The meat is really the star. So tender and flavorful. Service was great. Very friendly staff. I love that there is plenty of seating to eat there. Warning - Prices are a bit high for a pastrami reuben sandwich. I am not saying it's overpriced. It's quality meat and ingredients. I'm just saying that, for me, I won't be buying a pastrami reuben sandwich very often even though I loved it. They do have other sandwiches that are more reasonable. I'll be trying each one of those in the near future! Go try this place out!

We are so lucky to have an amazing deli in town now and owned by the same folks that own Chuckwagon bbq, so you know it's going to be great, just like their bbq.guaranteed not to leave here hungry. Look at the size of these sandwiches!

Started following on IG. We live n Highlands Ranch but in the area so wanted to try. Food was excellent, atmosphere great, staff awesome, on the expensive side in my opinion 2 sandwhich's no sides 2 drinks $45.00 with tip. Would have been 5 stars if pricing more reasonable or I guess maybe I shouldn't have tipped.

Giving a 1 star review on opening day has to be one of the biggest chode moves ever, 5 stars.

Tried Hammonds for the first time and it was delicious! I got the smoked chicken salad sandwich with potato salad and some sweet tea for a beverage. The sandwich was perfect amount of chicken salad and wonderful hints of smoke! The staff is wonderful and very friendly and felt welcomed in. Can't wait to come back and bring some friends.!

Absolutely delicious! My husband had the smoked prime rib and I had the brisket sandwich. Service was impeccable and the atmosphere super cozy! I have heard their Pastrami is super good too and they carve it to order, in front of you, letting each person choose lean or fatty. I can't wait to go back!

The food is absolutely AMAZING and the service is top notch all bundle into a perfect location that makes you feel warm and cozy, plus they have parking!!!!

We were really excited to try this place out. It's walking distance from our house and I love delis. We got take out for lunch. I got the pastrami Ruben. It tasted good but I'm not sure it's a $20 sandwich. My wife and mom both got the pastrami sandwiches. The meat was super gristly and hard to chew on both of their sandwiches. My wife asked for cheese on hers and they didn't add it. Neither of them finished their sandwiches because of how chewy the meat was. I tried to finish my wife's sandwich but ended up throwing it in the trash. Pasta salad was good. Service was friendly.
