Friendly bar, we did not realize they did not have hot food on menu. Cold cut sandwiches were good though. Very dirty neighborhood. Tiny bathroom. No complaints

I came here to grab a beer with my daughter and her friend. The beer comes in a very cool glass - if you order a schooner that is. And... you need to order it in a schooner. We didn't order food, just the beer. It's a great place to meet up with friends and feel the energy from everyone in the place.A thing to note - if you use the restroom, you will probably notice there is no sink to wash your hands. Exit the restroom and the sink is out there in the bar area. I suppose you can ridicule anyone who is not a hand washer in your group! :)

Best bar in Southern Colorado! Ice cold schooners. Deconstructed sandwiches. Traditional, delicious. Have a Miller schooner for $1.65! Their other domestics are $2.If you're coming home to Pueblo, it's one of THE FIRST places you'll want to re-visit. The 100? year history of this place is depicted with super interesting photos on the walls. Gus' was the very first bar in Colorado to get their liquor license after prohibition. The bartenders are so so nice. Above and beyond. They will remember you even if they haven't seen you for months, man.

An old school place! love it and so will you! If you are travelling through Pueblo you owe it to yourself to give Gus's a visit. This beer joint has been serving CF&I steelworkers and fellow Pueblo folks for like 80+ years. You can't go wrong with the dirt cheap schooners less than 2 bucks! And WTF try and find that anywhere else on this planet. And don't forget get the famous Dutch lunch (a plate of build it yourself lunch Sammy filled with onions, Several kinds of lunch meat, and tomatoes with condiments of mustard, mayo, all laid upon really fresh white bread to build your own sandwiches). This combo comes from the Bojon history of the area and the steel mill crews from the 40's & 50's and still is delicious today. Get over to Gus's you'll see for yourself.I always stop when in Pueblo and so should you.

We found an absolute treasure when we walked in to Gus's Tavern. Went on a Tuesday at 11 o'clock and the place filled up within minutes. Classic old style classic bar and the scooters to boot. The dutch lunch was absolutely delightful as was the staff.

It doesn't get any more local than this. In the '40s graveyard shift workers from the steel mill would come here for breakfast; probably having the same schooners of Miller High Life and Dutch Lunch served today. Their Dutch Lunch is Half a loaf of fresh white bread and a plate of cold cuts (the capicola is locally made & is OUTSTANDING). I'm back in Pueblo for a funeral, and after the formal reception at the church we came to Gus's to let our hair down. The advanced planning consisted of a phone call: "When people start coming in bring out the Dutch Lunches and don't stop." They didn't! 20 Oz. Schooners of Miller, Miller Lite, Budweiser, Bud Light and Michelob flowed as freely as the stories. Service was fast, friendly and capable - our 2 tables (20+ mourners) took over the inside half of the bar and we never had to wait more than a minute.Gus's is a Pueblo tradition on par with green chilis and the State Fair. If you don't understand that sentence then you're probably not from Pueblo and you should give it a try.

Gus's Tavern has been a go-to destination for my family for four generations. My sister and I stopped in for a twofer and a Dutch lunch. The beer at Gus's is the coldest beer on earth. So good! As always the bread, cheese and meat made for some yummy sammiches. It's been sometime since we stopped in, in fact our father was still alive. You'll only be disappointed with Gus's if you want a run of the mill chain dining experience. Stay away in that case, we appreciate Gus's just the way it is!

Would definitely recommend this establishment. We had the Dutch lunch and the Miller beer on special. Lunch was quick, fresh and delicious! Waitress said the bread and deli was from the bakery and deli down the street. The bar feels like your back in time. A must for lunch in Pueblo.

Our first time here today on the advice of a friend as we passed through Pueblo. What a delight! The place was sparkling clean and the hostess was so friendly and welcoming. The "Dutch lunch" was delicious and we ended up Making 3 sandwiches out of it for only $12. Since we were driving, we didn't partake in the cold beers we heard so much about. We will definitely be back. Loved the historical photos and the old school vibe of this treasure. Please support this business! You'll be so glad you came!
