They don't have alot to offer, but what they do have is homemade and hits the spot after hours of Nordic skiing. A winter soup buffet includes a selection of 2 soups and a bison chilli with all the fixin's. I'm so glad I burned off some calories so I could enjoy 2 helpings of the bread accompaniment which today included a garlic croissant-like phillo fried dough with a flakey outer crust and soft inside. Mmmm. The service was amazing too, and made you feel like family. It's quiet and low-key compared to the bustling vibe near the ski areas. A very nice and welcome change of pace.

What a nice surprise after cross country skiing for the day. They offered a lighter fare in a casual setting- full soup bar $10 for one visit or $16 for two trips. I enjoyed the Buffalo chili with all the fixins, including jalapeño cornbread $10. Local draft beer and sandwiches available(see menu). You can enjoy the soup with sandwich as well. Service was fast and friendly. Give this place a try for a heart warming lunch !

This was an unexpected treat after a day of snow activities. They have a soup buffet that smelled terrific when you walked in. Soups, Buffalo chili, artisan breads, and cornbread were on the menu. The cornbread looked and tasted fabulous. Not all cornbread is created equal and these stood out. One had Fresno and/or jalapeno peppers, and the other had cheese. The soup won reviews from my girlfriend. They also serve melts. I ordered the special melt of the day which was pork belly with coleslaw which was served with chutney and a salad. Again, an unexpected gourmet treat. Everything was very tasty. The restaurant is super clean and the staff is very friendly, helpful, courteous, and efficient. This was an all-around pleasant experience I hope to duplicate.

Good service and fresh golf club food. The bar has a nice selection of beer, wine no mixed drinks. The view is great and the dining room comfortable. The best part is the friendly and responsive service. Everyone here was nice and quick to take care of us. The food is basic but good.

Grill on the Gore is a new restaurant/bar in the new Golf Club building. The restaurant is on the smaller side - open seating with about 10 tables. There are a number of patio tables on a large deck that overlooks the 18th green/fairway, as well as what may be the best view of the Gore Range from any spot in town. The restaurant has a large bar, and tall ceilings. Large picture windows provide a great view of the mountains. The bar is steps from the 18th green, so you have a lot of golfers, but the Grill is a great place for lunch and/or dinner. There is one menu for lunch and dinner and it is mainly appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and burgers. The smoked artichoke appetizer is excellent, and the Gore Range Chicken sandwich is my favorite. There is a wine list of about 8 wines by the glass, a number of beer choices (including local microbrews), and plenty more of whiskey options. There is also an event center at the clubhouse, which hosts weddings, corporate events, etc. We went for dinner while a wedding reception was being held and we did not notice any issues at all. The restaurant is very good at what they do. It would be nice to have a more robust dinner menu and more wine options (bottles), but it has just opened and it is catering to golfers primarily. The Grill on the Gore is a great alternative to the pricey places in the Village. You can park for free, and the restaurant is easily accessible from East Vail and the golf course communities. The view is second to none, and it is a great place to enjoy a cocktail with friends.

I dined here for lunch a few weeks ago and had a salad with my sister. The girl server was awesome, friendly and bubbly! She brought us free FRESH cauliflower chips and hummus. I went back last week with my roommate for dinner. We had a what looked like a 16 year old server who didn't have a personality at all or knew how to serve or connect with guests. The service was beyond horrible!!!! Our drinks sat empty and had to flag someone over to refill them when we were the only table in the restaurant at the time. The entire staff looked pained to be there. I asked if the fish tacos were spicy as I cant eat spicy. He said not spicy at all and they were great so I ordered that! He brought out STALE free cauliflower chips that could break a tooth. So not impressed with him or his service. My room mate ordered a sandwich whom she stated she could have made at home. Our food came out and my fries were good but I only took 1 bite of the fish tacos and the spice burned my mouth. I couldn't eat my meal as he had lied to me. He took my plate and did not offer me another meal. I thought since they cooked it I would have to pay and thought he was boxing it up. If he chose to do that perhaps one of my room mates could handle the spice and eat it. We got the bill and he charged me for my meal I couldn't eat. He never offered his name as only 3 people were on duty. He Never offer me another meal, so I sat hungry as my room mate ate her sandwich, He never boxed it up. He choose to throw it away and charge me anyway which is so wrong! I then asked for a manager who quickly removed it from the bill. The young manager never said he was sorry. I told him im a concierge in Vail and dine around at different restaurants with my room mate so I can refer guests. He had the gall to ask which hotel! It was none of his business! I can guarantee that I will not be back and will NEVER refer a guest to this place due to the poor inexcusable service and food! I was highly disappointed to say the least!!! Super bad experience second time around. Night and day from the lunch. Just want people to know my experience and hopefully they correct the many issues with the food, the server and the manager asking inappropriate questions!

My family stopped in for dinner and the customer service was absolutely terrible!!! From the moment we sat down on the patio, which was NOT busy, the waiter was very short and rude with us. We had to wave him over to get our drink order in and waited a VERY long time to receive our drinks. We actually received our food before our drinks, which we ordered our food 5 minutes after our drinks. The waiter dropped off our drinks and ran off before we could even tell him we needed ketchup. We tried to order a 2nd drink and once again couldn't find the waiter. The manager, who was literally one table over, was of no help and thought talking to a couple for 20+ minutes was more important than helping or checking in on customers. She kept talking about weddings and personal stuff and come to find out the gentleman was an employee at the golf course. We tried to get her attention, but she had no interest. Finally, the waiter came out and dropped off our check and my husband asked for another beer and the waiter said we are closing. There were still 2 other tables eating, which we mentioned, so he said ok in a rude tone. Once again, we were waiting on the waiter to deliver the beer, which we could see that it was poured and on the bar. However, the waiter was too busy cleaning up as he obviously just wanted to get out of there. I called over the manager, who was still talking to the couple, and she said he will bring it when he gets a moment. Are you kidding me?? Got the beer, paid our tab and will NEVER be back!!!! The food was NOT good and was VERY expensive for what you get...Very disappointing especially when you own a place in East Vail and the food options are limited to begin with.

I wrote a raving review for this restaurant the past two years. It was one of our favorites in Vail, and has amazing views of the Gore Range. David was the executive chef and the food and presentation was amazing. They have a new chef this summer, and the quality of the food is completely different. They kept some of the same menu items, but the food isn't good at all. Both the presentation and taste are lacking. We miss David!!!! We will have to find another restaurant to replace this one.
