Where not to go!

On a vacation to Salida, a friend who lives there suggested we visit a green cat. She said, "Salida is an artsy town and the very best gallery there is this one." Well, walking in, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I wanted to buy everything -- the stunning diachroic glass, the creative oil paintings, even the handcrafted jewelry! I ended up staying there for over an hour trying to make up my mind, and ended up with two stunning pieces (and a big smile on my face). While there, I met the artist/owner, Steph Brady, and just loved her. She was authentic, helpful, and just the nicest person around. Now back in Chicago, I get compliments on my art all the time. I wish a green cat was located here-- scratch that, I'd probably go broke!

Stefanie's one-of-a-kind art glass pieces are especially wonderful seeing on a dummy Colorado day when the dichroic glass truly glows. Lots is smaller items for girlfriends giving, and Joe Brady's furniture and sculpture beg you to touch them.

Be sure to visit the Green Cat Gallery when you're in Salida. Steph Brady (the artist/owner) is delightful to visit with. She has stained glass (fused and dichroic, some sandblasted) hanging in the windows, lots of whimsical, creative paintings in oil and pastel, and amazing organic sculptures by her artist husband, Joe. A fun place to browse and visit!
