Great Sand Dunes Oasis

Close to the national park, with epic vistas. True no wifi, but they are pretty remote, so I don't think this is their fault, but my god the views!

DO *NOT* RENT BOARDS FROM THESE CROOKS!After spending $100 on overpriced convenience items we rented 3 sleds for the kids to use at Great Sand Dunes NP. After lugging the sleds in my youngest tried to use one on the first tiny dune and the board became delaminated making it useless and meaning we had to lug it around while the kids shared the other two.Upon returning them, I pointed out that the board didn't even work wince and asked if they could do anything to make it right. The worker just trotted out the "no refunds" sign... a total rip off!

They have first come first served campsites which are lovely, with plenty of trees, a fire pit, and picnic table. Bathrooms were clean. I rented a sand board from them as well, it was a quick and pleasant process.

We were planning on stopping at a place in Blanca, but it was closed. We didn't want to turn around so we figured we would just grab some snacks from the visitor's center. Much to our surprise (not on yelp, but plenty of reviews on a competing site), this spot was on the way. It is connected to a little convenient store. The food was good. Everything tasted very fresh. Would definitely recommend!

We grabbed a bite to eat after returning our boards and I was shocked how phenomenal my burrito ended up being. Staff was awesome and accommodating, the burrito had a cheesy crisp on the outside of the tortilla 100/10 would recommend :-)

Rental boards are used and abused. Staff is extremely rude. They rented me a board with huge gashes in it, creating a ton of drag. I climbed to the highest/steepest parts, waxed and buffed the board as instructed, and the board literally would not move. Mind you I've been snowboarding all types of terrain for 10 years. When I went to return the board and tried to explain what happened, they refused to provide any kind of refund or discount, or even listen to my issues for that matter. Don't waste your time or money, it's a scam. Why do they collect a $250 deposit if they don't even bother to fix the boards that come back damaged? Customer service is horrendous.
