Allo Gov'na. At one point this park was unable to be used due to drug use and other illicit behavior. But on my last visit it looked to be cleaned up and ready to be enjoyed again. Tiny park with the biggest issue that there's no parking and also not really street parking. The park is very steep on a hill.

It could be such a wonderful place but it's become unsafe. There's human fecal matter, needles, and a variety of behavior at Governor's Park that isn't conducive to anything positive. I genuinely hope the city stops neglecting this valuable and potential-filled space.

This park is good for small kids but doesn't have large kid equipment. It is often overrun by homeless people so it can feel unsafe. There was a time while playing there with my young child that a drunk, homeless guy tried to join in. We tried to be friendly but had to leave because it was getting uncomfortable. Also, many dog owners let their dogs off leash up on the hill which can be shady for dogs that don't listen to their owners.

I enjoy many a weird evening at this little park. There are colorful characters, a playground, and it is a nice shortcut to & fro. After a long day of pan handling this is a great place to rest your bones. Family friendly, pot smoking drunks, and the random passerby- don't worry they don't bite. Plus, it is the backyard of the Governor's mansion and less than a block away from some fun bars and restaurants. It is everything I am typing & more.
