Golden Nugget Cripple Creek Hotel & Casino

Definitely better than there sister company the golden king. Much cleaner, feels safer, notGhetto. All the staff was very nice. We had kids and it was not a problem. The pool is located at the golden king would not recommend!

The Friday night we arrived the wifi was down around all of Cripple Creek but the resort wasn't proactive in finding a solution. Sat around for 3 hours until 11pm until we put pressure on front desk clerk and they figured out a plan they could have hours earlier. The pool and hot tub at this resort are misleading. They are not on premise but you have to drive a mile to another hotel. Last but not least the steakhouse onsite had great food but the service wasn't that good. I gave 2 stars because the rooms weren't bad and the food onsite was good but customer service not so much.

Well, the room was actually okay despite a few oddities, but the smoke detector started chirping at 3AM because it needed a new battery. I tried to ignore it to no avail. I got up and removed its battery. It took me forever to get back to sleep. It happens to all of us. At home. A hotel should change the batteries twice a year. When we were checking out I mentioned it to the clerk. He didn't even apologize. You know what would have made up for it? A free night for my next stay. But no. So I guess I'd choose someplace else next time. Really nothing to do with the accommodation. Just the handling of the situation. The single star is for how I was treated. The hotel itself would get more stars.

Place is a scam. They charge higher rates during the weekends even thought the parking lots are completely empty. Rooms weren't clean when first checked in and no microwaves in rooms so you are forced to spend money at the lousy "steakhouse" across the street. Would not recommend

This whole place is a scam. Booked clearly at Golden Nugget, confirmed with pictures of the rooms in the casino, but upon check in they said sister company. So, we go up the hill to check into the sister hotel and it was disgusting ... we really aren't that picky, but hate scams and unacceptable cleanliness at 174 per night.We immediately checked out and they said they would reimburse us ... hasn't happened yet.

My review specifically covers the hotel since I dont really gamble.To keep it short and simple, service is extremely disjointed and slow. Severely understaffed or staff usually doesn't work at this hotel. Websites and services to check in online seemingly do not work. Room keys barely work. Hotel main WiFi is out during our stay so our Smart TV doesn't work. No hand soap for sink. Elevators have a tendency to get confused and stuck on a floor opening and closing the door. Pool is at a completely different property.Atleast they gave us the military discount for our stay but won't plan to from here forward.

This definitely ain't the Nugget in Vegas. Or the Nugget in Biloxi. But, the staff are nice. Slots pay out pretty good. Drinks are strong and free. Saltgrass is very nice. Love the set up of the restaurant and decor. Waitresses were awesome. Food was excellent. They just need to update their machines to the newest ones. Add another restaurant and have an enclosed smoking/vapingarea. Cuz it's freezing here!!!!!

I wish they would clean their machines more often. Sometimes they're sticky or wet from drinks.

What could improve??? Well, the inside of the casino could have a working HVAC system. Half of the casino was as cold as a walk-in refrigerator. This used to be my favorite casino - now it's the shabbiest and I feel like I'm being low-balled. The Monday hot seat drawings vary - it's supposed to be 3 people (even though the email I received said 5) - and sometimes it's 2 and sometimes it's 3 - all within the same day.Consideration for guests seems to have greatly diminished. Employees are great, they are often asked to explain things that are simply inexplicable. Sorry to see such a warm receptive place turned into an express line at a Wal-Mart. Leave your money and get out of here.

I really wished I checked the reviews before I talked my son to stay there. Room had no hot water, no shampoo. talked to three people. NO ONE FIXED THE PROBLEM!!Stayed 9/23, 9/24 checked out 9/25. The first day there went to talk to a young man at hotel desk. Came back later that day to find key did not work anymore. Went down go a new key, went up to room to find no one fixed the problem or brought them shampoo. Went back down, complained to two other people asked also for housekeeping for coffee and water for the room. No one came!!! Bottom line is this place is a joke!!!! Do not waster your money there. All they care about is that you put money in their machines, they do not care what kind of experience you had staying there. I called the hotel. There is no way to talk to someone!!! My son threw his card away, will never stay there again. My husband and I will also never go there again. There are plenty of places in Cripple Creek that would love our business. They should be rated -10.
