Golden Burro

My husband and I were trying to find a place offering smoothies, and prior photos of Golden Burro's menu had tasty sounding options. We also were swayed to come in due to being advertised as "vegan" and "plant based". Unfortunately... This is a total lie. After grabbing a table we opened up the menu and I'm pretty sure there were no vegan items; certainly no smoothies. They had a very limited breakfast menu and only the standard egg/bread options. We ended up walking out and not ordering anything due to unfulfilled expectations. Alas.

Downtown Leadville on main, having a good vide with the sign "Grab a Menu and Seat Yourself"Two for lunch and we order the chicken enchiladas and the ground beef enchiladas. The food was tasty, authenticate and nice portions. Service was quick, Luna was great, 5 stars for the restrooms and a nice lunch overall.

The food was very good, but services was pretty mid. I enjoyed my breakfast, but after sitting for 20 minutes they finally took out drink order and after 20 more minutes our food order. Our food came out in a timely manner yet we had to go ask for our beverages about half way through our meal. Waitress seemed upset we asked for the drinks we ordered, but other than the service the food was good! It was also not busy when we showed up, maybe 5 tables total with 4 waitresses going around.

Stuffed French Toast was delicious! My fiancé enjoyed the Bacon Breakfast Burrito as well!

What a surprise to find a fully vegan restaurant in a Colorado mountain town?! Came to check them out for lunch and it wasn't bad! I had the Rocky Mountain oysters (trumpet mushrooms) and the tamales. The RMOs were delish! I could have done with little more ranch but I had just enough to get me through the plate. The tamales were just so-so to me, not as much filling as I would expect & just not as flavorful as I was hoping for. Service was fine, atmosphere was alright - very diner-y. If I'm ever in Leadville, I'd like to come back & check out other menu items (especially the bakery!).

Service was friendly but a little slow. Could be that we were there at their busy time. Noticed as we were leaving it seemed that food was coming out of the kitchen a little quicker. Food was good. Cute little place with adequate table space.

I ate my food so fast i forgot to take pictures but the presentation was beautiful and food was super good. I got the chicken chimichanga and it was huge, then to finish i got the fried ice cream ... OMG. 100% worth stuffing my face . It was crusted in cinnamon toast and probably one of the best fried ice creams ive had. Definitely check them out if you're in the area! I stopped in after going to Melanzana

NOTE FOR FELLOW VEGANS: They are no longer a vegan restaurant!!!However they can make their veggie dishes vegan, just make sure to ask for no dairy.Service: 5 stars, super kind, understanding of us vegans and substituted everything we asked for.Food: 5 stars, absolutely delicious with nice portions, we got the veggie burrito and the veggie fajitas with no dairy, tip, if craving the veggie burrito, get the fajitas instead, the veggie burritos filling is the same as the fajitas, and you get more with the fajitas.The only reason this is a 4 star review, is that while the chef was making our burrito, they sprinkled some cheese in our no-cheese burrito, and they were advertised as a plant based restaurant when they weren't. Thankfully they were kind enough to give us another burrito free of charge. :)

Can't say this strongly enough, don't go here. We sat down and the girl came over asked what we wanted, brought us our drinks and 5 tables that came in after us got there foodWhen I asked her she said she would check it had already been 45 min.She came back and said they are working on it. At this point we left.

This is a hard one to review. Had a fabulous breakfast omelette. Portions are huge. Will go back for breakfast but.....Ate dinner here last night. First clue should have been that at 6:30pm on Friday night there was only one table with customers when we walked in. There was a very strong cleaning smell, caustic and burning. Later I realized the mop bucket was right across from our table. Not too appetizing. They don't serve chips and salsa as they have no salsa for chips. What?!? How does a Mexican food restaurant not have chips and salsa. I ordered the three chicken enchiladas with the tomatillo sauce. Although the plate came "hot", the sauce was congealed, the enchiladas were dry and flavorless. There are too many good Mexican restaurants in Leadville to waste your time and money on dinner here.
