We arrived at this hotel for a romantic two day get away. The first thing we noticed when we walked into the lobby was the strong smell of marijuana. I mentioned it to the front desk clerk and he said people smoke by the entrance and the smell wafts into the building. It's a really strong smell and hard to ignore. Our room was a king room on the first floor. A beautiful view from our room but there was hair in our bathtub, a "skid" mark in the toilet and the toilet ran continuously the entire time we were there. The smell of weed was strong in our room as well and kind of gave me a headache. This was more like a hostel than a hotel. The mattress was not especially comfortable either. The staff were extremely pleasant and the shuttle was extremely convenient. All in all, it's a lower end mountain town type hotel and I wouldn't choose to stay there again.

Don't waste your money here... might as well stay at a motel 6 . The 2nd floor reeked of marijuana from check in to check out ( non smoking hotel). We were woken up at 0245 by a dog barking for 3 hours (no dogs allowed in the hotel ). One bed was hard as a rock, the other totally mushy, no blankets in the room just a really thin gray "bedspread". Rug gray, walls gray, very depressing. Both of our keys stopped working. For $180/ night I expected better. Even worse, we went to Chamonix the next day to check out their rooms... for $150/night they had luxury high end rooms, beautifully decorated, they even had plush towels and bathrobes... we are staying there next time!!!

I stayed overnight in a two bed single room on the second floor and the beds and the pillows are very uncomfortable and scratchy but the front desk lady's are very nice and funny and will keep you entertained for the time you are checking in or checking out of the hotel there is a front lobby for coffee and a few vending machines for medicine, food etc. overall it is a mediocre hotel for sleeping if you are expecting 10 or more hours of sleep in the beds I would not recommend this hotel to you.

Wonderful front desk support very sympathetic. My frustration is with the ownership. When booking online everything read, "golden nugget hotel and casino", and online pictures of a nice hotel. The description included two restaurants. When I arrived was notified, I was at their secondary property, which is a very old rundown, worn down, motel where the lobby smelled like marijuana and the room smelled like stale cigarette smoke.. I would have paid more to stay somewhere else, but the town was fully booked so stuck with what I got. What an awful advertising promotions system. they should be booking both places completely separately under their two separate names with the star rating of less than two for the motel property. They lost out on the gambling money I brought with me that I planned on spending at a booked "hotel and casino".

We stayed at this hotel for two nights when we were in Cripple Creek. The lobby and hallways spelled of cigarettes and just funk. There were quite a few shady people we saw staying there as well. Definitely didn't feel safe allowing our teenagers to walk around without us. The beds were super soft (like roll over and your bed parter moves as well). Very dated facility that is in desperate need of updates. Didn't take any pictures.

We stayed here for one night to gamble. We reserved 2 of thr Gold Room Suites for ourselves and our inlaws. These rooms have a jacuzzi in the room. Pros: location is beautiful, it is walking distance to Wildwood, but it is uphill. There is a free shuttle that was super responsive and took us anywhere we wanted to go. Room was clean and appeared updated. Pool was awesome! We had 2 small kids with us and they had a great time in the pool! Front desk was very friendly and check-in was easy. Cons: there were some sketchy people staying here, but that is expected at any casino hotel. Cops were there twice that night, but we didn't witness anything. Our room was dark and lighting was poor. Bed wasn't terribly comfortable, but was okay for one night. If you are taking kids to Cripple Creek, this is where you should stay. They will love the pool!

So how many bad reviews will it take for management to act? They need to renovate badly. The rooms smell like smoke the carpet is dirty and old, the beds are spring beds. I get it, it's an Inn not a hotel, but they are charging the same price as a hotel.

The cleanest rooms I have ever stayed in. Only issue we had was the people that came in our last night. Staff wonderful and friendly.

I'm giving it 2 stars because the two gentlemen behind the check in desk (Joshua & I didn't get the other name) were nothing but friendly and solution oriented. I can't say the same for the bored oompa loompa looking "interim manager" because the moment we walked in with our lab she immediately was rude to us and rudely asked if he was a service dog, I said no, but when I booked online it said pet friendly & she stated that well they won't change it, etc etc, we're not pet friendly & you know the internet can be wrong and outdated..that's ok...but the next issue is getting a refund. She immediately dismissed any further conversation about the refund and said you'll have to go through the booking After a series of unnecessary babble & eye rolling& threatening to call the police on us bc my boyfriend said he will have to have the company speak to our attorney if we can't get a refund (she actually did step outside and called the police) I asked her if she was the manager. She immediately said no but- & then I told her that I don't need to be speaking with her then if she's not the manager, she clearly didn't like the fact that she had no real authority and I wasn't going to waste my time speaking to someone who is problematic and not solution oriented and she kept asking me to leave...I wouldn't leave ...I adverted my attention to the 2 wonderful gentlemen to ensure a smooth cancellation process & the next steps as she took a picture of our car, which is probably way more than the costs of her whole entire sad life. This all happened within 5 seconds of us walking in to check in not knowing that they recently changed their pet policy. I felt a sense of discrimination because I'm clearly Latina & it was only me she had the issue with as she looked me up & down and asked me, the non volatile & appropriately curious party to leave. Anyway, if you're looking to stay here...don't. & to the fake manager, stop wasting police time, & find a new hill to die on. Being unprofessional & rude...isn't doing much for you.
