Such a fun way to spend a day for the holidays, for adult and children alike. Santa comes through the train cars and makes sure he greets everyone so have your list ready! There are different ticket options from open train cars (bundle up!) to the Waldorf Car which was festively decorated and warm. A sweet staff comes through and takes your drink orders and also brings the check at the end of the trip. The ride is through the mountains of Georgetown is beautiful and just a relaxing way to celebrate the holidays. We are all adults but enjoyed the children who were near us. The train ride is roughly 60 minutes from start to finish, making a one direction start and then reversing the train to return to the station There are no bathrooms on the train, and you cannot bring your own food or drink. Just hop on and enjoy the view. It is simply wonderfulGet tickets ahead of time as they sell out. Parking is ample and free

For families with young kids, the Georgetown Loop at Christmas can become one of your holiday traditions. It's charming, picturesque, and they have amazing Santas every year. Our family has done this for the past three years, and I'm sure we'll continue going for as long as our kids will go. A few tips:- Show up about 10-15 minutes before your time. You need to park, pick up your ticket, and hit the bathroom before you can get on the train. - Ask for a bell in the gift shop when you pick up your tickets. - Book a ticket in one of the better cars. It's worth the difference in price to have assigned seats and snacks for the ride, especially if you have kids. - Get your tickets in August when tickets go on sale and have your pick of any day you want.

Overall, I enjoyed this experience and would go back. The lights on the outside of the train and train station were stunning. I wish it was a little longer (only 60 minutes) with the train going back down the same way you came so you get the same view twice. The cocktails were not very good and tasted watered down. The staff was very friendly and seemed to be enjoying themselves. I do wish they had a car and/or night for adults only as it was pretty loud with a lot of children.

This was an incredible experience that was only an hour west of metro Denver. For a mere thirty dollars a person, you can ride a steam driven, narrow gauge train from Georgetown to Silver Plume. The views are breath taking and the history of at all is amazing. The staff at the ticket counter and on the train were friendly and professional. They wear period type costumes and play out their rolls quite well. The entire experience was first rate and fun from beginning to end. The loop takes about an hour which is just long enough to be fun but not so long as to become dull. Perfect duration for kids and their attention spans. I can't wait to do this again near Christmas when they do Xmas lights as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed Georgetown Loop Railroad in December.Annie took great care of us and kept everyone following the rules. Santa and the Conductor visited with us and we sang Jingle Bells. The custom Bell was the perfect surprise souvenir.

We had a great ride on the Georgetown Loop. You will definitely want to buy your tickets ahead of time, especially during the busy season. We went in December and were very grateful to be sitting in a Parlour car. The Parlour car came with a snack basket and a free NA drink. The ride is short (just over an hour,) but the views were beautiful. It was a relaxing way to spend the afternoon.Additionally, while we didn't have time to do any exploring, the town of Georgetown looks like it would be a fun visit before or after your train ride.

A last minute day trip turned into an incredible memory. The views will speak for themselves and the staff made the trip relaxing. Sit, take in the scenery, listen to the background train music, and reminisce of a quieter, simpler time. My children and I had a great experience panning for gold (I have zero skill), but they did great. The mine tour was an absolute blast. Our female guide was the perfect host, knowledgeable, funny, and down to earth. A wonderful educational experience we will never forget

We went to the lighted forest at 6:30pm and my nephews and niece loved it!I personally wish I had gone earlier to see the scenery, but it was still worth it. Santa came through and had a nice conversation with the kids and the kids loved it. It was super cold outside but the carts inside of coach kept us pretty warm. Definitely recommend!
