I used to love coming here, but the food has really gone downhill. The service is great, the staff is friendly and the ambience is inviting. However, the food has just been subpar. The sushi is rubbery and has a poor quality flavor. It's terrible because I absolutely love a staff here. However, with other sushi, restaurants in the area having better quality food, I will not be coming back to Fujiyama.

We ordered a couple dishes here to try out. Calamari appetizer1 order of salmon nigiriSpider rollChicken teriyaki bento boxThe calamari appetizer had a good crunch to it. Unfortunately, it was a bit drowned in sauce and some bites would be a bit overwhelming in flavor. The spider roll was rolled too big which made it a bit difficult to eat it easily in one bite. Which did not taste as good if eaten in several bites since the flavors of the ingredients are broken up. The fried soft shell crab was also not fresh so it didn't taste as good as can be. The miso soup came with the bento box and the lady was nice enough to give a complimentary miso soup because she didn't want the other person to feel left out. It came out hot, just how I like it and not room temperature. However, the soup was a bit on the salty side so not as enjoyable as it could be either. The salad from the bento box had a weird dressing on it which was not personally to my liking. The tempura as well was not as crunchy as it could be for that nice crisp when biting into it. Overall it was an okay experience and I personally would not be coming back again to try any other dishes.

To be honest, this wasn't our first choice when looking for a sushi spot downtown . The first two places were closed and eventually it led us here! The inside was dark, quite and had a great "sushi" feel to it. The service was good and the staff was friendly! They restaurant was running a special (all Summer) that was 50% off ALL sushi rolls! That was an awesome deal! I thoroughly enjoyed each of my rolls that I had. They have a large section to choose from as well. They may not of had the sushi burrito I was looking for, when we went to the first two places, but it definitely did not let down for the yummy and adorable sushi rolls they have!

Don't just stop by to order your go. They will push your order back and serve the people at the restaurant first. People came after me and they got served first. I only order sushi and sashimi.Now, don't get me wrong, the food is good, but service can use more work. It wasn't up until I got up to ask about my order then the chef started preparing it. And before you ask, the restaurant wasn't that busy. To top it all off, I asked for a salmon sushi roll and salmon sashimi. Not what I got.

Friend and I went for Galentine's Day and I forgot to give my review. The food was great and because it was Valentine's Day. They gave food items for free along with with your meal. We sat at the sushi bar enjoyed good food and had a great time. The service was impeccable, and the ambience was inviting.

I gave this place 3 stars. The food is absolutely delicious. I've gone twice now. The first was with a friends during some great weather. There weren't many patrons then so we received our food and drinks relatively fast. Nothing wrong at all. A group of us had dinner last night and the place was admittedly pretty busy. That being said, I could not believe how slow the service is. I try to be empathetic with the staffs at restaurants, too, but this was ridiculous. I mean, 15 minutes to get water. Then the waiter just drops them off and doesn't ask if we want other drinks or food? Come on. I'll go back because the food is great but I may try to avoid this place if it's busy. Which is unfortunate

Nice ambiance and friendly wait staff. We ordered a bento box and everything was nice. Portion size was big and overall a great meal. I enjoyed a plum wine and my wife had a fall special cocktail called 'Hocus Pocus'.

Overpriced, low quality sushi. The service was less than average, but food quality is what really missed the mark.We ordered the edamame as an appetizer, which was so small of a portion that it was probably only good enough for 2 people to share.My daughter had the bento which came with a good variety of menu items: salad, tempura, gyoza, teriyaki chicken, and rice. However, the server forgot to bring rice! So my daughter went about 30 mins into her meal without rice because the server never came back for that long.My husband and I ordered 4 rolls to share: grinch roll, shrimp tempura roll, sugar daddy roll, and ryan heart roll. These rolls were so small, with very few pieces. For the price of the roll, I'm expecting much more. The rolls were comparable quality to grocery store sushi, or even worse. The rice on the sushi was hard and not fully cooked, and all of our rolls fell apart as soon as we picked them up. No ginger or wasabi came with our sushi, so we had to wait even longer for the sever to come back to bring us some. The two baked rolls were smothered in the same spicy mayo and eel sauce so that's all they tasted like; you couldn't even taste the ingredients inside. And the presentation was so odd, they came in foil packs on a plate which was not impressive at all.They also included gratuity on our bill, which you could NOT modify. And based on the poor service and the low quality of food we received, the amount of gratitude we were forced to pay was not justified. Our bill was twice the amount it would be if we went to other sushi restaurants in the area. What this place is doing is complete robbery!

If I could give them 10 stars I would! What a find. We ordered the salmon and chicken bento boxes. Every bin was filled with another delicious meat/fish, sushi, salad, rice, fresh tempura. Nancy, the manager, was so kind and helpful. The background music made it easy to have a conversation! They even have tamari if you are gluten free!
