We had an epic 25th anniversary day thanks to this place. We walked in and the staff were really helpful in setting us up with E-bikes. They explained how to use them and gave us great directions on how to get up to Maroon Bells. It was the most amazing bike trip!!! Our first E-bike ride made us fans! Coming from MN and not being acclimated to the altitude yet, the E-bikes made this ride physically possible. Once we got there we locked them up and hiked 3 miles. Thank goodness the bike ride back was all downhill!!! Gorgeous trail, great equipment, helpful staff.Priceless.

The staff here were incredible. Helped give their input on the different mountains in the area as well as got you your gear quick without hassle. They also delivered your gear for free to the mountain of your choice and the pick up was seamless. It was an enjoyable experience and I would rent my equipment again from them!

This location is just terrible. My wife and I were in a few days ago and the employees attitude was poor and unhelpful. They did not want to rent us any ski gear and were very rude. On the flip side, we had a positive experience at this same store in Snowmass. I hope management gets the employees right one day at the Aspen location.

Avoid this place! Their rental tactics are downright predatory and the management is so sleazy its hard for me to understand how they have not been fired yet. If you like your ski rental experience to feel like buying a used car though, I guess you could go here.I did a 5 day premium ski rental from Four Mountain on a recent trip to Aspen. The rental experience in of itself was pretty par for the course. Skis worked fine and the free ski valet was a nice benefit, though it is on the pricier side compared to the local competition.What makes me give this a 1 is the return. Upon return of my skis, one of the junior employees pointed out that I had a small (emphasis) chip in the base, presumably due to early season conditions. The employee and I both agreed that this was a no big deal minor base repair, (using a substance called P-tex) which one can easily do themselves for the cost of supplies (less than $5). Any shop charging more than $20 for something like this would be highway robbery.At this point, the junior employee called over the shop manager who asked if I purchased the $6/day insurance. I did not under the assumption that given my skiing style, really the worst that could happen is about this, which I knew from prior experience is so minor that most shops wouldn't even bother charging you for it. Boy was I wrong. The manager informed me that I would be charged $65 for a "Platinum Tune" to repair the damage. I asked if he disagreed with my assessment that all that was required was some P-tex, which he did not, but nonetheless insisted that he absolutely had to do a full platinum tune of the skis.Suffice to say, this was obviously nonsense. I grew up racing and used to do part-time ski tech work, so I called them out, and it seems like the manager knew it was BS too. The rough answer I came away with was we can charge you whatever we want, so we will. At a minimum, I'd call this flagrantly unethical, and depending on your view, possibly fraudulent. Especially considering the fact I'm deeply suspicious any shop in fact conducts a "Platinum Tune" for a pair of rental skis. Aspen Mountain should be ashamed to have sales practices like this associated with their brand. These tactics may work on unsuspecting tourists and merely leave them frustrated, but for me it was infuriating to know I was being conned and ensures I will do my best to never give them another cent of my money.

We were quoted $14.95 for a hot wax. This is something we had done in the last year or two as well. Then, when we showed up, suddenly it's $49.95 for a different service and the store hasn't offered waxing in "3-4 years." Just take your skis to Hamilton's across the courtyard and get them done for $18.

We rented bikes from the Aspen store, and went on a 20 mile trek on the Rio Grand Trail! Such a beautiful trail to bike along - staying by the river for much of it, and just seeing beautiful mountains the whole way. If I did it again, I would maybe bike further from Aspen and take a bus on the return trip (which is mostly up hill). As a casual rider, the up hill in addition to the 8K + elevation wore me down. I can't say enough about the workers in the bike shop. They had multiple workers outfit all 5 of us at one time. They changed bikes when they didn't feel it was the best fit, provided locks upon request, included helmets, and reminded us of the biking rules of the road. The bikes were well maintained and very comfortable and efficient to ride. They were helpful in every aspect and quite enthusiastic to hear about our ride upon return. Great experience.

Great gear right across the street from the ski mountain. Extra benefit: they will take your skis to another ski mountain the next day if you ask them. (Ask for details.)Super friendly, efficient, professional staff, especially the rental team. The blond woman with the nose ring (missed getting her name) was helpful and super easy to work with.

Mick Ohare worst staff member ever. We spent $2100 on ski clothes because our luggage was delayed. I asked if I could return 1 pair of ski gloves still in packaging and he smiled and slyly said no, we can't! Have a nice day! I will never spend my money there again while he is employed. He was the rudest and I will write the company.

Good experience in the end but started out rocky. Reminder that treating tourists like they are a pain in your ass is never ok. Tourists are a big part of what powers aspen.
