Foote's Rest is always a go-to when we're in the area for our annual family camping trip. Limited [but good] selection of ice cream, lots of candy to choose from, fudge, froyo, and usually pie. Ice cream and shake prices are on the high side but we'll keep visiting. Not sure what all's going on in their expansive patio area. There used to be a covered beer garden area, and in the past they had live music.

This charming, historic sweet shop located in Frisco opened in 1946 when Robert and Helen Foote purchased the property. However, its history goes back even further to the late 1800s. It also once served as the town's post office, general store, and gas station. The main building originally consisted of a one-room, wood plank cabin which is still standing today and attached to the larger white main house. The property expanded into its current state as the years went on. Fixtures from it's heyday as a post office can still be seen in the building which adds to all the charm. Inside you'll find an array of sweets available from individual candies to homemade fudge, homemade ice cream, and more. The ice cream is available by the scoop or as a shake, float, or sundae.I love fudge and got a couple of different flavors. They were really tasty, but also very sweet, so a little goes a long way. My favorite was the Tiger Butter and the Raspberry Swirl. I also got a coffee malted shake which was delicious. I would've wanted it to be a little thicker, but it was good nonetheless. It was a little pricey for what it was, $10.25 for a small shake and around $5 per piece of fudge (about 1/4 pound).Overall, this is a cute stop if you're in the area and craving a bit of sweets and I loved the historical aspect as well. To this day, the historic Foote's Rest landmark still remains in the Foote family.

We ordered a lot including the fudge, and ice cream. The guy working was extremely patient with us, and it was appreciated! For fudges we had the peanut butter, smores and chocolate pecan. I thought the s'mores was way too sweet to even swallow but I was in love with the peanut butter. Still very sweet, but just enough to hit the sweet tooth. As for ice creams, we had chocolate and the caramel / Twix one. The Twix one was delightful! And you can never go wrong with chocolate

This historic building is a wonderful sweets shop. It has fudge, homemade ice cream, and bulk candy. The service was friendly. They surprisingly do not offer samples. I had the blueberry ice cream which was smooth and tasty. I was hoping to have some fresh fruit in it but that's not the case. I also ordered a piece of tiger fudge. Overall a decent option. I would come back

Foote is a fun trip back into time, long ago but not too far away. We came here after dinner at The Uptown on Main (see Review). We were mostly walking off our food and decided to stop into this quaint little shop. We ordered some ice cream cones, a chocolate shake and a chocolate malt. The youngster our age, took her time and we chatted as she made them. No rush here, just patience and a lot of love. Nice.

Foote's Rest Sweet ShopVisiting during the Fall! They have home made ice cream!!!!You are allowed to sample the flavors..I tried their Pumpkin Ice Cream! And it was amazing! My friend had their Midnight Raspberry and it was good! I had to have both flavors! And so I did! I wish I had a third because their Salty Caramel was also so good! The ice cream was very creamy. The flavors was crafted so well. I love each bite that I had. It wasn't a cold day when we went. We were there a day before the snow was gonna hit and it was surprising warm out. I only had their ice cream. I wish I could take some home to California! I just have to come back and visit! Town is absolutely adorable! As you enter it, it looks like Lincoln Logs was originated here. Very cute! I enjoyed walking the town eating my ice cream from this place.Definitely coming here for more when I visit!

Can't really comment on the place itself, but they did have a stand outside where they had hand crafted wooden sculptures of different sizes of bears and mooses and the couple other animals as well. Not sure if they do this year round, or what. But it was pretty good stuff in varying sizes and somewhat reasonable prices.

Staff today was extremely rude. She proceeded to let us know that some of the candies were hard because they are old. She said she still makes money off them and that they make more money selling the candy in bags rather than how they normally did it. She didn't offer any samples and when we asked she just looked at us at said no. So if you like hard candy, rude staff, and no samples this is the place to go. I wish a zero star was an option.
