The cozy common area - tea and coffee are available throughout the day and baked goods are usually put out in the afternoon.
Breakfast area - great way to start the day meeting other skiers, cyclists or hikers and swapping info.

Zero negative things to say! What a lovely lodge with the most welcoming staff. The beds were comfy, the breakfasts were as hearty and healthy as they were delicious. The environment is relaxing and everyone just seemed to go above and beyond. You cannot get a better location, super quiet and residential but with a quick walk to all the fun stuff downtown and close to hike/bike paths. We had a great summer trip to CB during the Wildflower season and it's all thanks to Elk Mountain Lodge. We hope to return! Thank you!

The lodge was quaint and cozy, and the hosts were interactive and extremely pleasant and gracious, welcoming my conversation and my roaming about. Nice hot tub room, pleasant community spaces, and a small bar that stayed open til 8:00. It's in a cute little neighborhood, two blocks from the main strip with oodles of great dining and shopping, and the bus stop for the free shuttle to the mountain. Also, they rent a locker at the ski resort and will let you reserve it (if available) to keep your stuff their for free so you don't have to haul skis back and forth each day of your stay. Breakfast, given COVID constraints, was nice enough, but mostly grab-n-go bread products, with hard-boiled eggs and fruit with peels. They did offer one hot option (breakfast enchilada one morning and mixed burritos the next). Staff happily made more croissants by my kids' request when they ran out.Though the lodge community spaces were perfectly appointed, our two rooms were pretty disappointing - smaller and louder than expected, and at least one with sketchy climate control (we set the thermo to 72 but the room temp always hovered around 78). My husband commented that the mattress felt like it was stuffed with newspaper, but I thought it was pretty comfortable.BE ADVISED, they are not designed for moderate-to-light sleepers! Every creaky footstep from the room above was extraordinarily audible, as was every bit of bed-shaking and associated vocal emanation from surrounding rooms (I blush even now! XD). Such activities were a pre-dawn alarm clock each morning, along with the monstrous roar of the plumbing as morning (and midnight) showers began. All par for the course, I suppose, when you stay in a hundred-year-old lodge. My issue was that the Queen room did not match its description of a queen bed, seating area, and desk. It was a full bed, with a chair next to it and no desk. When I brought this to the attention of desk staff to ensure I wasn't being overcharged for the wrong room, I was told that they had no idea why the room would've been described that way, as they had no rooms with desks... Plus, they could see the room I booked on Booking.com was the very room I stayed in. Um... huh? I didn't raise a fuss or demand a discount because they were such nice folks, and businesses are having a hard time of it these days. But they didn't offer one either, which was pretty lame. Crested Butte lodging is extremely pricey, and this was a more affordable option, so I don't begrudge the place for any less-than-luxurious accommodations. I would've given four stars but for the bait-n-switch and lack of conciliatory response.

True Bed and Breakfast Vibes. Quaint, Cozy, great location. Would only suggest slightly lower prices for better money for value. Made a reservation here for one night Sat - Sun on my first visit to Crested Butte. Tip: on their website it does not allow you to book just for one night for some rooms, so just call! When we arrived their was one staff working and checking people in, but Chris was welcoming, quick, and helpful. The B&B locks up after 8pm so you use a door keypad to access the B&B. Staff are friendly and attentive and let us check in 1.5 hours early. Amenities are good. Fresh cookies in the afternoon, breakfast in the morning, self-service coffee machines expresso machine. There is a hot tub but it was unfortunately closed for cleaning. There are ample communal rooms to relax. There are some bikes for free use at the front. Our room was quaint as well. Older decor and amenities so expect a very cabin feel. This place is fairly standard for the area. There are not alot of lodging options in crested butte but these B&Bs are a more enjoyable experience over AirBnBs. The location is unbeatable 2 blocks from elk ave. I would definitely return. My only suggestion is a slightly lower price per night. Maybe around $150 instead of $230

Very clean, great service, and friendly staff! This is a great place to stay if you want to ski and explore downtown CB. It's a short walk from the nearest bus stop making for easy travel to the slopes and also a very short walk downtown. Breakfast was delicious!

Really cute spot right in the town of Crested Butte. Such a friendly place with welcoming staff. They will help you with any questions or things you want to do. And also just converse with you about anything, making you feel like you stayed at someone's home! Dog friendly and there are tasty snacks in the evening and a yummy breakfast. Need a dog bowl, they have one to use. Loved it here.

There are not a lot of lodging choices in Crested Butte. We chose this inn based on Yelp reviews and proximity to the historic downtown (two minute walk). The building is cozy and comfortable with about 16 rooms but not enough parking for all. Owners communicated well to set up our arrival when they were not present. Also gave us good recommendations for dinner.Breakfast was great; Nicole basically made it to order since there were very few guests that day.The one disappointment was the room which was extremely small and cramped, as well as hot. If there was an air conditioning system we didn't find it. A ceiling fan might have helped but there wasn't any. The sheets and pillows smelled as if somebody else had used them before us, but maybe they were just musty from lack of use. The bathroom was tiny but adequate. If I were to go back I would probably try to find a larger room.If you're going to visit crested butte this is a well-run establishment that's close to be action.

We loved our stay at the Elk Mountain Lodge. The bathroom was small but the quaint, comfy atmosphere made up for it in a big way. The perfect location to the main area was exactly what we were looking for, and we definitely would stay here again. The Mountain View's from every window are breath taking‼

This is our second year skiing in Crested Butte and staying at Elk Mountain Lodge. We love this place and the location couldn't be better! Walk out the door and you're two blocks from restaurants, shops and the shuttle to the base of the slopes. The staff is amazing - Mark and Chris are the perfect combination of laid back and responsive, and we've yet to find anything Mark doesn't know about the town. The lodge is cozy - such a great atmosphere - and breakfasts (included with your room) are delicious (and there are always vegetarian or vegan options).
