El Rey Taco Shop

Damn these are good tacos. What a nice surprise, looking for a little late lunch on the way through Salida, saw the taco flags and open sign across for the Ace in town. Glad I did a U-turn to get a quick bite as the carne asada tacos are yummy and tasty sauce too.

Amazing taco chips but salsa was real spicy. The server was nice she brought it out right away. We got the barria burrito bowl & the beef enchiladas plate. Both were a bit small for the prices. The beef stew (barria) was just roast beef chunks missing seasoning. The 3 enchiladas were on a street taco shell. The sauce was decent. The food was fresh. Sour cream & guac was only a table spoons worth. No refill on chips. Lil stingy on portions.

Check out this small taco shop on US 50 in Salida. Make the stop and enjoy their Fantastic Street Tacos!!!We enjoyed the 3 different sauces and they all had deep flavor. Highly recommend this small family run business.

Delicious tacos, colorful and clean dining area, and friendly staff. We ordered the carne asada, birria, and Al pastor tacos. All were served on warmed corn tortillas with generous meat portions and just enough onion and cilantro. Limes on the side and a selection of three sauces: spicy red, mild green, and mild avocado. Definitely glad we found it

Eaten here twice passing through and both times was great! More low-key than other restaurants but the food was delicious and the staff was wonderful!!

Amazing food. Clean restaurant. The salsa is spicy but the flavor is amazing. Birria tacos were amazing. All the salsa's/hot sauce are some of the best I've ever had. The avocado salsa is the best with a smoky flavor that is to die for. We ordered 3 different items and they were all amazing. So much flavor. 10/10.

Today was our first visit to El Rey Taco Shop in Salida. My husband orderEd nachos and I ordered the grilled chicken burrito. This was my all-time favorite. The staff was extra friendly to two souls traveling thru from Tennessee, but this will not be our last visit. Great find for Mexican food
