Front door to our private suite
Cute art on outside of building
Our view of Pikes Peak from the side of our suite
A quaint adobe styled motel with friendly service.
We love this place. A little cabin to get away from the big businesses. This is our new "Go To" spot!

We had come to town a few days before and were staying at an Airbnb that made us feel unwelcomeSo we checked in at the El Colorado and had a great experience. Everyone working there made us feel comfortable. Check in was a piece of cake and they welcomed our little dogs. If we needed anything during our stay we just needed to ask. It was like stepping back in time. It was fun to imagine what travel was like when it was first built in the 1920's. We had a fire place In Our suite which was awesome to use at the end of the day. We definitely will stay here the next time we visit the kids. Bonus: it's right next to Emerald Fields, the "grocery store"

We were here for a BIG family reunion, the place wasn't that spectacular...not the cleanest, showers and sinks didn't drain.but my biggest complaint, the cleaners were thieves....I left my APPLE IPAD under the pillow, and when I called the owner she said casually "it wasn't there, I must not have left it there" that was it...the cleaners were walking in our cabin as we were walking out...there is NO way they couldn't have seen or felt the ipad, when they changed the sheets...very sad that you cannot trust people who are working people to take care and be honest. The owner would not give me the cleaners (looked like a mother and son team) names...I did call the police..even the detective said it sounded suspicious...I wouldn't recommend this lodge to my worst enemies...I'd just as soon sleep in my car.

I love the El Colorado! My friend and I got a two bedroom cabin for one night and we were both very comfortable and happy with the spacious accommodations. The room was very clean, and well decorated in the southwest adobe style. The place was very safe and warm, there is a swimming pool, hot tub, and shuffle board too. What's not to love? Don't waste your time driving all over Old Colorado City and Manitou looking for a cheap motel room, you will be disappointed, try this place first! There are also big tvs with cable in the rooms, a nice bonus. You can bbq right outside your door and have a nice supper on the picnic tables, and keep the leftovers in the in-room refrigerators.

This lodge provided the best experience of Manitou Springs I could've imagined. The history of this property was interesting to learn about while enjoying modern luxuries (like laying by the pool with a view of Pikes Peak) and a mini-fridge for cold ones. Cozy and clean cabin. Cute exterior which makes for a good photo backdrop. :) Walkable to Adam's Mountain Cafe, which is across from Emerald Fields. Incredible hospitality. Friendly, accommodating staff. They even gave us a huge discount because we stayed for 2 weeks while apartment hunting. Thanks for everything y'all.

This grouping of cabins is old, very old but sometimes you need to experience that. Experience how our ancestors travelled with a bit of modernization. We stayed with our two dogs just overnight and did not have time to look around at the amenities. Do make sure you get there while the office is open, it's not a 24 hour office. I found the cabin to be OK, wife thought it could use a little cleaning. But again, it's that old history thing. It's Literally down the street from Garden of the Gods, a nice walk/hike/drive through red rock formations it's also close to other tourist attractions. For a traveling family with pets, I would say give it a try unless you are a modern Hilton only kind of person.

We booked a cabin almost a month in advance for a 2 night stay over Christmas. Was never able to speak to anyone, just email, text and left 2 voicemails. We were looking forward to staying there because our parents had stayed there several years ago and enjoyed it so much. Not so great for us.Before our arrival, we were given a code to unlock the front door to Cabin #1. Walked in and the place smelled like a stinky cigar. The fireplace was sealed up and not usable, which was something we inquired about, but never received a response. We had traveled well over 800 miles and were looking forward to a nice hot shower, before relaxing the rest of the evening. NO HOT WATER! When we flushed the toilet, it backed up into the sink in the kitchen. That was enough to notify "Rachel" regarding the issues and that we would not be staying there. We expected a reply or some kind of response, but nothing until we arrived home and had received an emailed invoice of a full refund. It would have been nice to speak to someone personally or given the opportunity to move to another cabin. Very disappointing!Do not stay here, unless you are able to speak with someone directly and able to see the cabin before you decide to stay there.\

I am so happy that Manitou Springs gets to make some money going again! My bestie and I came up here for a quick getaway. The front desk lady is a sweetheart but #14 was so dirty! The legs bent on the chairs, the table legs were bent. There was NO lighting, we had to get a flashlight. The windows and doors are winterproofed with old duct tape. The beds were so hard! Everything smelled like dust! No extra blankets. Couldn't figure out how to turn up the radiator heaters. It was pretty rough. I hope they can come around.

Rented this room in a crunch , was very smelly and outdated. No coffee pot in room No WiFi or the front desk lady didn't give me the password because she was to busy on the phone while I was checking in. When I called back to get the password the phone went directly to voice Mail. NOT WORTH $160

The buildings are extremely unique and we would have loved to stay here in the adobe cabins. However they only had one pet-friendly room available. It smelled of urine and stale Cigarette butts. Both of our eyes started itching and giving us problems within a short amount of time. We had to check out, leave and locate a different hotel. The girl at the desk stated that someone would be in contact with us however no communication has occurred. This establishment needs a renovation. It could be really unique.

What a great place. Location was great and price was affordable. We had purchased the king suite, which was the right move as it had a fully furnished kitchen with all utensils. This saved us a lot of money not having to constantly eat out. Tammy was very helpful. Would definitely recommend.
