El Alazan II

The food was good until my wife found a large fly in the piece she was about to eat. The waitress was not surprised or apologetic. Apparently the manager couldn't be bothered to talk to us about it. They offered us a 10% discount on her item, which was $.90.We will never dine here again. My advice: go to El Caporal in Canon City instead.

He was hungry so we drove by the main drag and he decided on this place. The decor screams 'Fiesta!' and js definitely a blast of color. Nice parking lot and a patio area. The tv had a Mexican rodeo on which was interesting. The servers were friendly and professional. Chips and salsa brought out. The salsa was more puréed than I'm used to and had a bite to it. He really liked it. I decided on the Chile relleno with beans and rice. He chose the colorado burrito which is chopped steak cooked in a red sauce and then rolled and smothered in cheese and red burrito salsa.The Chile relleno is different that what is served in Denver. There was a thin coating of egg over the Chile and then the cheese. It tasted good. The Chile was spicy which I appreciated. The rice was also nice and moist while the beans were tasty. I usually don't eat the beans as sometimes they have an after taste to them. But these I liked. He inhaled the burrito and sides. So I guess he liked them. A different experience and because I don't know what authentic Mexican tastes like I can't say if it's authentic but it was very good even if it's different from what I'm used to.

A huge, tasty margarita for an incredible price at lunch. Food was good although I wasn't a huge fan of their salsa. Very pretty decor.

Best Mexican restaurant in the area!! The portions are huge!! Also the server was really nice and attentive!!

Great Mexican food, and friendly staff, coming from a guy that grew up with the great Mexican food around Houston and Texas City . This is about as close I've found around Canon City / Florence.

Excellent home made Mexican food at reasonable prices. I especially recommend the Pico!

Tonight about 15 minutes before 8 pm-I found out they closed at 8 pm so I wanted to go thereand eat great Mexican food. So I phoned in my order-I am just a couple of blocks away...I ordered two cheese enchiladas rice and beans and a margarita. I jumped on my bike and pedaled up to their place. When I arrived 7:58 my drink was on the table. The food followed. It was very good and they were friendly. Total bill $18.00 I am happy to recommend them.Larry Nelson

I really want to like the place, but take-out is really a sub-par.In restaurant has been better, but not what it was when we first went in 2021.

The food was just okay, did not taste like authentic Mexican. The drinks were really expensive and had very little alcohol in them. Overall, we were pretty shocked at the bill - twice as much as we would pay for Mexican food in Denver. I would not recommend this place - however, the service was very good.

Excellent, fresh food. Fast service. Large portions and nice prices. Vegetarian options appreciated, so is takeout. Highly recommend a stop here. Thank you!
