Eh. It's Alamosa. Not much to do here. The room had a smell to it, kinda weird. The shower didn't work and the water never drained. The hot breakfast was good though and it was free so that's a plus.I did like the location and how close to the park it was

After a long day at the sand dunes, we drove to this place to check into our hotel. Everything started off great. We checked in easily and were greeted kindly. We got to our hotel, majorly showered and started to unpack for the evening before heading out to dinner. We came back from dinner, changed into our pjs, and my beau was going to hop into bed first and he saw a bug. We both got scared and couldn't determine whether it was a bed bug or not. Yikes! He had me immediately pack our stuffs while he booked another hotel. After packing all of our stuff into the car we called the management staff and told them what happened. This was close to midnight. The lady got hold of the owner and he came out to meet us at the office in the midnight hour. We showed him the video of the bug and several pictures of the dirty linens. We asked for a full refund, he apologized, asked if we'd like a different room and we said 'no', and he quickly refunded our money. We were so glad he was understanding and not difficult. The other thing we didn't like about this place is that the towels are very cheap and feels like sand paper! I don't think I will be returning to this place again. We had a bad experience and to be courteous to the owner, I do not want to post up photos or the video just because he was apologetic and refunded our money fully. Beware and check your bed! I'm so glad that we've had a good habit of checking all of the beds we've slept in on our trip.

We chose to stay at the Dunes Inn because it is located near the town's only EV charging stations. The woman who checked us in was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were showing their wear and could use an updating. A number of weird sounds woke us up during the night. The bathroom is in need of modernization. The hotel does provide a voucher for breakfast at their restaurant...the food was barely edible, but that's a separate review.

I needed a room last week for a night and grabbed this place as it was one of the only remaining rooms within a 40 minute drive (what the heck was going on in town that I missed out on? haha). This location is pretty walkable to restaurants and convenience etc..We checked in on Friday afternoon. The front desk agent was super friendly and welcoming. Check in took all of 3 minutes and I had my room key. The room was neat and clean. I was able to park right in front of the door for easy unloading. The room was nonsmoking but did have a lingering smoke smell like prior to the current nonsmoking, there was 40 yrs of smoking in it. Included in the price of the room is breakfast at the café next door. That was a bonus! In the end, it served its purpose. The smoke smell was a bummer, but I imagine its hard to get out after so many years at some point.

Not a bad hotel. I just wish the people would actually not smoke inside. We came in and there was a smell of cigarette inside. It wasn't that bad as the AC unit made it go away after an hour. Spent about $125 on a Thursday night.

We stayed two nights here so that we could visit Sand Dunes NP. The positive things about this place are that it comes with a breakfast from the diner next door, the carpet was new, there were double sinks, the price was great, there was a refrigerator and microwave, and the location near a coffee house and restaurants is nice too. The negatives were that our room wreaked of cigarette smoke. I told the lady that checked us in and she said all she could do is spray the room. I told a different lady when we checked out today too and she said it was because it's an old building. She did not want to own up that it was cigarette smoke. We all felt like we were in a Vegas casino room. The ventilation is very poor so the room gets very stuffy too. We blasted the AC, opened the window and propped open the door for a solid hour to air it out, which barely helped. Unfortunately, since my husband has severe allergies, this caused him to sneeze and cough throughout the night. The beds only have two pillows, instead of the standard four so it was hard to sleep, plus the beds were creaky. The towels are very small and rough. We had to go to the office to get toilet paper and Kleenex, and there is no coffee pot in the room which was a little weird. Despite all of this, we would have stayed again had it not been for the cigarette smoke smell. Instead of just updated artwork, bedding, furniture, and carpet, they need to redo the walls and ceilings to get the smell out.

Friendly old school motor inn. Lovely rooms. Mine had a wood ceiling. Kind and friendly check in. Room had everything I needed. Found my stay very relaxing and felt safe. Short walk to Main Street shops. And free breakfast at the All Valley Cafe next door. Hole experience leaves you feeling like a local.

The most affordable motel near the Great Sand Dunes, we wouldn't be able to check in until well past midnight. It took a few times of calling the office, but after finally being able to reach someone, I was able to confirm we'd be able to check in after hours via a real estate lock box. Wish other guests weren't loudly talking outside at 5 a.m., but other than that, was a good experience.
