Dozo Sushi and Bar

Dozo Sushi and Bar in Colorado Springs offers a taste of Japan from their bento boxes to chirashi bowls to nigiri and sushi, as well as a full bar. Dozo is located on 8th street near a car wash and can easily be spotted from the main road. Be careful walking toward the restaurant as there are little potholes and uneven pavement.As someone visiting Colorado Springs, I was really excited to eat something that tasted like I was back home. I enjoyed the ambiance and the staff that welcomed and served us - I believe her name was Esther. I especially loved the presentation of the hand rolls, sushi, and nigiri that we ordered. I took note of what made the wooden board with our orders placed on top look so beautiful: parsley with baby's breath, sliced oranges, blueberries, and raspberries added visual interest and a pop of color.What we ordered:* Sake (Salmon) Nigiri* Hamachi (Yellowtail) Nigiri* Ebi (Shrimp) Nigiri* Spicy Tuna Roll* Salmon Skin Hand Roll (off-menu)* Tornado Roll* Rock N Roll* Veggie TempuraEverything was fresh and delicious. And the cuts of fish were perfect. I liked how the tempura roll was slightly battered. It gave the sushi roll enough crunch without overpowering it with batter.They do have a full bar at Dozo, as well as TV around the restaurant.Overall, you are paying for high quality food, high quality service, and high quality presentation! Thank you, Dozo Sushi and Bar, for providing me with one of my best meals in Colorado Springs!

Five stars for the sushi! I love unagi so the reverse cowgirl was it for me. The shumai and gyoza were delicious as well. The service was pleasant, and the ambiance had a modern asian flare. This spot was a 30 minute drive for me, and I'd definitely return.

We returned for the full Harry Potter experience and we were not disappointed! Butter Beer, 1/2 Blood Prince, Gryffindor and Slytherin House Rolls AND THE DRINKS CAME WITH HP COSTUMES!!!! Great time, as always!

The atmosphere at dozo sushi is always very welcoming. Expect it to be busy so making a reservation is a good idea. Sushi is high quality and they have a variety of options for different pallets. Everything we have tried so far tastes very fresh and the whole menu seems very thought out. As a couple who loves to try new things, dozo has options that we haven't been able to find at other spring's sushi locations. It's rare to find sushi this high quality without an ocean nearby.

Out of all the places in the Springs to go to sushi... Dozo takes the cake. The interior of the restaurant is elegant, staff is on top of everything, and very kind. They double and triple check about allergies and ensure their customers aren't worried, and we super appreciate it! This is personally my favorite restaurant. I love bringing friends and family, and trying something new every time. I am never disappointed!

Pretty jolly little sushi joint had some eel on the nigeri menu and it was awesome! Never have had the opportunity to try it before but it was phenomenal would go back to just eat that

It is so hard to find good places that can do raw fish/sushi in Colorado. I have been meaning to check out Dozo for a while and finally stopped in for a late lunch. Staff was quick and attentive. The restaurant is decorated interestingly. The fish was incredibly fresh and flavorful, I really enjoyed the sushi and nigiri. I wish they added some fruit (mango) into some rolls so you can get that sweet, salty and spicy flavor going on. I'll be back for sure.

Great food. Great service and awesome atmosphere. Recomend doing a reservation specially on Fridays.

The best presentation!! Love all the food. Severs are always so attentive and great. Fun cocktail menu.

Food is very good although on the pricey side. Service is excellent. Parking can be tricky especially on weekends.
