Good variety of equipment and amenities. I just need dumbbells and a squat rack with some kettlebell and a hack press and indoor running track and cardio equipment and machines and I am set! This place delivered with a lot of thought out into accessibility.

This is a good local YMCA, it's located in Downtown Colorado Springs. The staff is very friendly and ready to offer assistance when needed. I only used the pool and locker room area, those facilities definitely met my workout needs. The overall facility was a little outdated, but good for a workout.

I was going here for the past couplemonths, purely because it was the closest gym to my school, but just left. the main reason why is because the prices are simply wild. Their "youth" membership fee is about $35 every month and you can take 1 guest one time for the whole year, and that guest cannot be a guest for anyone else again after that for that entire year. My experience is that I was unable to come up with the funds the last month and so I went in finally to renew my membership. I was told that I had to pay for the membership last months fee (fair) and the late fee ($20 but fair). However, when I go to pay the fee with cash, I am then told that they changed their policy with cash payments. Now, if you're paying with cash- you have to pay cash six months ahead upfront. In total what I would've had to pay: $230 in cash upfront. Ridiculous.Considering the gym is run down and in a very odd environment with limited equipment. It's just not worth paying for compared to the much cheaper, cleaner, and visitor policies that gyms like Vasa and Planet Fitness. My one positive is that all of the workers that I have interacted with have been very kind and informative throughout my duration of the time here.

I don't get the point why you can't wear workout top. They want you to wear t-shirt while working out that's ridiculous, who cares whatever you wear as long as your not naked,it's already 2024 people grow up.

I have been a member of the YMCA my whole life. I have finally had enough of this gym and cancelled my membership. The basement is muggy, filled with outdated equipment and smells like old people feet. There is no views. The hours are the worst gym hours of all time. My wife is constantly harassed by the staff for dress code. Yesterday, she wore a full body covered 1-piece with spaghetti straps and was asked to leave. It's 100 degrees outside and we have to ask for permission to turn a fan on in this limited access basement with no AC. Sick of the way this gym treats it's members. If you're 80 years old and will pay for personal training, you're their prime member. I watched clear discrimination as the staff didn't know we were together. As soon as I spoke up, their tone drastically changed. I would give 0 stars if it were an option.

For being (from what I understand) is the oldest Y in town, it is in excellent condition and well maintained. Very clean. Staff friendly and helpful (unlike the Briargate location). The electronic exercise equipment is incredible. I quit the purple fitness place and the extra$30 a month is totally worth it. More people in my age group (60+). The covered parking is a plus! Can't wait to use the pool! From what I understand, there are some pretty petty and rude patrons using the pool at Briargate who throw the fact they have been a member for 18 years and break the pool rules and actually splashed water in my wife's face when she called the other patron out for breaking the rules. She (the splasher) complained to staff about my wife, but luckily, they had it all on video. Anyway... loving the downtown location much better than Briargate. Shhh! Let's keep it a secret.

The staff was very rude and some of them need in depth customer service training. The place was not clean. The sauna barley works. I also witnessed one of the staff lose it on a member (the old black guy at the front desk). The Ymca near Briargate has way better staff and is much cleaner.

My wife and I recently moved here so we have been looking for a gym. We went to a tour of this location and we loved it so we signed up. The front desk staff is blah they aren't nice or rude they just let you scan your card and that's it no extra conversation. The older lady with the accent is very rude we try to avoid coming when she is there. On the tour of this location they showed us the child care area we were very excited about that since my wife is pregnant. When we were on the tour I noticed that there were several employees and only 2 children. One older lady with blonde hair was playing a game with the kids while the other employees sat at a table. We didn't think anything of it at the time but since then when I worked out I've noticed on the tv in the gym most nights the older blonde is playing with the kids while the younger gals are sitting at that table. My wife and I have discussed it and we have decided that we will not be taking our child there as it seems like one person is responsible for all the children while the others just hang out. Tonight while I was there I noticed on the tv she was playing with the kids making something at a table with all the kids while the other girls sat at a different table I noticed a few times they would bring stuff to the table but never help her. She must get paid very well or really like her job because I could never stay at a job where I was responsible for most of the work while watching everyone else sit around and talk.

This place offers badminton! I have played in San Francisco most my life and was so happy to find a community club with a wonderful mix of people and skill levels. They have 2-3 courts open on Wednesday and Saturday nights and rotate every game so you never have to wait more than 15 minutes to play. The front desk staff are also sweet and friendly and are always so positive - you'll notice the joy they infuse when you listen to their announcements or when they answer the phone. Here's a link to more information about the Pikes Peak Badminton Club that meets at this Downtown YMCA. https://pikespeakbad.wixsite.com/pikespeakbadminton
