This was my first visit to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science but my family are regulars - particularly my grandkids. When we arrived, both grandkids had special parts of the museum that they wanted to see first. They obviously "knew" the museum. My grandson is REALLY into dinosauers and loves all the exhibits in that part of the museum. On this particular day, the crowds in the dinosauer section were relatively light and he started talking with one of the volunteer docents. The docent spent a lot of time one-on-one with my grandson who, despite only being 4 years old, asked a lot of intelligent questions and actually carried on a good two-way conversation with the docent who was amazed at how much my grandson knew about dinosauers. The docent went above-and-beyond in the time he spent with my grandson. You could spend all-day here - there is so much to see and absorb. We spent over 3 hours and only scratched the surface. This is one of Denver's gem attractions.

My GF and I visited here through the Denver City Pass and it was well worth it. This exhibit has 3 floors and each floor has about 3 other rooms to walk through and learn more about rocks, animals, insects, and even health! Tickets range around $24 Parking was free! And they even have a cafe for you to order food and drinks if you get hungry.

We really had a good time today. Can't believe we actually stayed four hours and that's a lot for an active high strung 7 year old. I've noticed they added more interactive activities and exhibits for all and it's been a while since I explored the museum other than the featured exhibit but there is a discovery zone as well that my nephew/godson spent a bit of time at. The rainforest animal exhibit was also a hit for us as they actually had real animals and again interactive. I was very impressed that I renewed my membership that lapsed for several years. They also give military discounts.

I experienced the T. Rex IMAX and the planetarium show as well as walking around different exhibits. I really enjoyed the old school gemstone exhibit and the special poison exhibit.Buying tickets for a large group was a little confusing on the kiosk so then we had to go wait in line but other than that experience was pleasurable. I wish that the grab and go cafeteria had more gluten-free and vegetarian options besides salad.

The museum's latest temporary exhibit, Animals of the Rainforest, is an absolute delight and a must-see for nature lovers of all ages. Featuring a mix of live and carefully crafted replicated animals, the exhibit truly brings the lush biodiversity of the rainforest to life.We were fortunate to attend on the member preview night--a perk I always appreciate--and it gave us a chance to experience the exhibit in a more peaceful setting. The thoughtfully designed displays and informative signage made it easy to appreciate the fascinating creatures and their unique habitats. The clear star of the show is J.J. the sloth, who effortlessly captures the hearts of visitors with his endearing face. We watched him dine on a fresh salad before making way to the top of his tree for a nap. The exhibit does a great job highlighting the importance of rainforest conservation and the need to protect these incredible species. If you're considering a visit, don't wait! Highly recommended!

What a gem in Denver, Colorado! The Denver Museum of Nature and Science has been a favorite place to go of mine to learn about all kinds of topics ranging from mineralogy to astronomy, read a book, and/or get a ton of steps in. The price is a bit steep at around $27 per adult, but the amount of knowledge you can potentially walk out of there with is worth it, in my opinion. There are many staple exhibits such as the gem exhibit, space exhibit, dinosaur exhibit, Colorado wildlife, etc but there is also a rotating one located on the third floor. As of the date of this review, it is an exhibit about poison and all the rotating exhibits I've been to have been well-done. I would highly recommend walking over to City Park, which is pretty much attached to the museum, after your visit for a nice walk around a beautiful park.

This museum keeps me coming back. There's always something to see with their new exhibits. If you've never been, get there when they open to give yourself time to explore. We had the pleasure of off seeing their Poison exhibit and Rain Forest exhibit (with live animals) this time around. We always check back month to month to see what's new here as it's my favorite museum in Denver. Remember to take break! Grab a snack at their cafe and check out their awesome gift shop!Don't forget to check out Colorados famous "TEEN REX" too! You can see their paleontologists working on them and their theater has a movie about it!

This is a cool spot for kids and adults. Lots of amazing details to learn about human, nature, earth and our history. The museum spans over four huge floors. My favorite areas were space and planets. I experience how astronauts operate in the ISS, smelled the air of some of our solar system planets. The mummies were another interesting section, covering the process of mummification and recent technologies revealing more about mummies. Colorado being hotspot for dinosaur fossils, there's a large section displaying recovered bones and structures. There's a window to the curving and recovery laboratory where we saw staff drill the bones out of the soil.We walked around rest of the sections that appeared decent to me. The food in cafeteria was so disappointing. The pizza had no real taste, cheese was blend. Was really hoping them to serve decent food since there's so much foot traffic.Museum is pretty clean. Staff around to help. Parking is free in the lot. During peak time might need to wait few minutes to find an empty spot.

There are a lot of great things to see and do at this museum! We spent hours learning about all kinds of things: space, rocks, poison, dinosaurs, etc. We were only visiting Denver for the weekend; if we lived in the area I am sure we would get a membership. We happened to visit on a free day and that was great. The view from the roof is amazing! There were some things that we were less than impressed with - there was a fitness exhibit that was supposed to be interactive, but unfortunately all the machines seemed to be broken, though none were labeled as such. There was a temporary exhibit about poison which I learned a lot from, it's very interesting information - but the exhibit itself seemed very dated and dusty and was not easy to interact with. I am tall so that helps me.There is an odd fantasy-spaceship section which - it is interesting, but it is a lot of buttons and levers and I'm not sure if they do things. It was intriguing as a creative space, but it was confusing. It was a large amount of space and my time might have been better spent in a different part of the museum. The most disappointing thing was the food. The cafeteria had closed earlier, so there were a few serve-yourself options similar to what you would find in a convenience store. I got a slice of pizza - it looked ok but the dough was raw. Our friend said the food in the cafeteria isn't much better and she wished she would have advised us to leave the museum and walk through the park and eat elsewhere.Like I said though, we did have a great time. There is a LOT of stuff here...maybe they could edit and update a little here and there to make things better.
