I went there for my first time with friends for a retirement lunch. There was a very sweet vibe there as it's in a converted Victorian house. The service was adequate but not warm. They did everything they were suppose to but it was not that friendly. I guess I thought in a home environment it would be a little warm and fuzzy. I want to emphasize though the service was not bad.I had the club sandwich which was very good. It is not your traditional club though. It was a good sandwich cut in half with fresh ingredients. Two people in our party ordered a salad with salmon on it and they liked it very much. The fourth had the chicken quiche which she raved about. I had a cup of the onion soup, and the broth was excellent. I wish there was a bit more cheese but still quite good. We got dessert. We got one carrot cake and one creme Brule to share. They were ok. The carrot cake was substantial and very rich. The Brule was super tiny but pretty tasty. Two of us had sodas to drink. For four of us it was 87.00 for lunch. It was a nice outing. I feel like it was a bit pricy overall for the amounts of food given. Still it was a good place to eat overall.

Recently, I went to a program in Colorado Springs, where to celebrate the program's completion, the other faculty members and I decided to grab dinner one evening. I was the lucky one to be provided the opportunity to set up the dinner. As it was a last minute request on a Friday evening, I used OpenTable to see what was available for a group of 14 people. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Dale Street Bistro Cafe had the availability for a group of 14 online. Though I made the reservation, the next morning when they opened, I called to confirm that they can honor such a large group. Throughout the day, we asked some local Colorado Springs residents and a few Lyft drivers if they had heard of the Dale Street Bistro Cafe, and none of them had. The other faculty members looked at me as if we were taking a risk to go there, but they decided to give it a chance. Upon arriving, we seemed to be on a street with no other restaurants or stores, and the cafe was much like a very small house. Everyone gave me another look before we went in. From the moment we entered, though, I was very pleased at the special experience that awaited us! We were led up stairs to a second story that we had exclusively for our group (at no extra charge). The place was all set up for us, and later, we realize from their website (http://www.mydalestreetcafe.com) that you can reserve the second floor for up to a group of 30 people. The ambiance was great! There was a balcony, a fireplace, artwork of talented local artists, and some fun decor. The service was stellar, and the staff seemed genuinely happy that we were dining there. They went out of their way to provide us a great experience! The menu was full of a diverse array of items which made for many happy people within my group. I ordered a glass of moscato along with the chicken piccata which came with a potato and vegetables. Some of my colleagues ordered the blackened chicken & bacon pizza or the pizza marguerite while yet others ordered the L'orange salmon with vegetables and rice. There were also plenty of pasta dishes, a wide assortment of appetizers, drinks, and dessert (and even hamburgers over lunch). The other highlight was how affordable everything on the menu is. The prices were great! Also, while none of us were Colorado College students, they do offer a 20% discount to any CC students who dine there. While I doubt that most Yelpers will randomly go searching for a group of 14 (or 30) people to dine in Colorado Springs, rest assured that the Dale Street Bistro Cafe can handle it! Hopefully, after we talked it up to our later Lyft and Uber drivers, they now will know the place (and give it a try themselves).

Quaint bistro with interesting menu for any meal. Was around the corner from our Airbnb, and we carried out from there 3 times in a week. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Chicken piccata, shrimp with pasta in wine sauce and hamburgers...soups...all a win. Proprietor very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend. One block from Colorado College.

This place has potential but is awful as it is now. We went with a coupon from the entertainment book to try it out. For one they first wanted to say we couldn't use the coupon since we made a reservation through open table but did end up cancelling that so we could use our coupon. Also with using a coupon even though there were just 2 of us they charged an automatic 20% gratuity pre-coupon (but with tax- they miscalculated our bill- adding tax for total before coupon and calculating the gratuity with tax added). As for the food the wheat bread was ok and cup French onion ok (which was extra not a 3 course meal per the owner's description here on yelp). My husband had the jaegerschnitzel and I the wild at heart. I was extremely disappointed in my meal and had only couple of bites. Hubby said his was bland. We were not going to spend any more on dessert, etc at that point. If a restaurant wants business and puts out a coupon they shouldn't try to nickel and dime you for it. The food was not good at all and even with the coupon we felt we still overspent. We absolutely will not be returning and I hope this review saves you from a bad meal too. There are many other way better places!!!!!
