I have battled with posting this, as times have been tough with Covid the last year and that this is a small town that depends on tourists to survive. I am not one who posts negatively without conscious (especially for local, family owned businesses)...That being said, we also need to make sure you know HONESTLY what comes with staying here, as you might also have 'needs' to fit your wallet. Then, YOU decide if it's worth the money, as it's not cheap to stay here. --Photos and reviews mention things that are no longer being offered and/or are misrepresented. There is NO BREAKFAST offered! --The entire room is in every photo. They are tiny, not small, not "cozy", not quaint--TINY! --There is NO SECURITY to the rooms. (No peek holes, no deadbolts, no chain/latches.) Yes, it's the 'small town of Westcliffe', but there are simple securities when staying at a hotel, that provide comfort (including state of mind) in addition to a courtyard. --When we saw a microwave in the courtyard, we thought "how lovely"...EXCEPT that this is the ONLY microwave available! (None in the rooms.)--They show cute, quaint beds in the rooms, and refer to things as "cozy". Cozy means soft, welcoming, warm, comfortable, right? That's NOT what these rooms are! The bed is EXTREMELY hard (we like firm-to-hard beds for our backs!), but the FLOOR would be more comfortable! The pillows were flat, ineffective and need to be replaced--especially with all of the bedding sales available, reasonable mattresses and pillows are not excessive requests. --When we walked by one courtyard window, we made an unexpected eye contact with the man shaving in the room! Extremely uncomfortable for all 3 of us, as there is SO LITTLE PRIVACY at the bathroom window! During our stay, the little bit of window privacy is BUBBLE WRAP TAPED TO THE GLASS and lace valances! But the windows open in and there is no side/upper window privacy. --We had business to do in this lovely, friendly town, so we decided to check out the Courtyard Country Inn, a week in advance, to make SURE it was all they represented. Here's what we saw. --The courtyard IS lovely and the couple who own it work hard at its appearance.--Their dogs are friendly and there are many beautiful birds in the garden. --They have media person who helps with bookings who will get back to you ASAP and try to work through your needs! --But the fact, that they wouldn't show us even ONE room (using 'Covid' and 'sold out', as an excuse in their actions) should have been an indicator as to their misrepresentations in their photos! Even from an open door and without entry, many places will still show rooms from the doorway of rooms, IF they care about customer satisfaction. --They seem to WANT to be that unique, cozy hotel in town. (They COULD be with some direction and help.) But when you prepay before you even arrive, and the 'due to Covid' non-contact check in, you really are backed to the wall if things AREN'T up to their representation! --You won't see any employees (to discuss resolutions) once you've arrived and paid, either. Something as simple as a note of follow up under the door (or a text) after your first nights stay, to make SURE you're happy, would speak loudly of a non-contact service. They don't even pick up your registration agreement until AFTER you check OUT. --So, just food for thought...If they're that concerned with Covid protocol, in a SERVICE INDUSTRY BUSINESS, they should either be accessible and masked up, OR not be open to the public. --Just KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK, what to TRULY AND HONESTLY expect for your money. This isn't a cheaply priced hotel. Courtyard Country Inn COULD provide that 'icing on the cake' of a lovely, friendly town...though unfortunately it DOESN'T.

I have been coming to Westcliffe for 40 years and Courtyard Country Inn and Ravens Cove are the best. I love Bianca and the staff. They make you feel at home and taken care of. She's the a-typical motherly type which shows her love and passion for her guests. I have been to a hundred different hotels and AIRBNB'S and this one tops them all...

my third time here and each time I have come here on a whim with no reservations, keep that in mind for part of this review. First discovered this place last February and looking to be my go to place for lodging in Westcliffe. Not the only place for lodging in this tiny town nor have I tried all of them, but it is definitely a worthwhile place to stay. really nice courtyard here, Lots of cool things in it. Love the evenings with the beer and wine laid out for everyone. This time around though the owners were not able to have any rooms open since they were originally going to do some remodeling for this week, but when they realized who I was from my previous visits (they know me as the photographer which is nice that they remember me that well) they made sure they set aside a room for me for the night, not something that I expect, but was a really nice treat. Otherwise I would probably ended up at the lodge/motel just outside of town, that one is OK, but the people who work there are not very friendly. The breakfasts in the morning are great. Mo makes some wonderful food and in a unique manner, though they are usually the traditional breakfast items, they are made in a unique manner which I really like.the rooms are small but comfy nice beds too, there are no coolers or freezers nor is there a coffee machine but they do offer good coffee in the mornings before breakfastJust know that the owners have dogs there, they are friendly but they do bark, as the owners have referred to them as "little terrorists" in an affectionate wayOverall, I enjoy coming here, well enough to return whenever I stay in Westcliffe which is a couple of times a year, as of last February of course.I clicked on moderate in price, the rooms are $100 a night so it is between moderate and pricey, but compared to the other place I have stayed in the town it is worth it comparatively

The Courtyard Country Inn is the best place to stay while visiting Westcliffe. The Innkeepers are very personable and accommodating. Though the room has basic amenities, it is super cozy. The property has a beautiful butterfly garden, koi pond, and fire pit and all are welcome. Beyond these inviting features, the staff offer great recommendations on local eats and activities.

For $120 you get two full beds, a tiny bathroom and a TV in a space of about 200 square feet, if that. NO ice on premises, no mini-fridge, no microwave, no top sheet on the beds, no chance for early check-in (office closed), no coffee maker, no breakfast (it's advertised as a B&B). We would not stay again.

This is a place to be avoided. The couple who run it do not have the personalities for service/hospitality. Both are unfriendly but the husband (a realtor who hawks that through the motel) is really creepy. He did something really offensive to me but like the bride in the comments below I am not going to go into it.Facts: 1)It is not a B&B, no food whatsoever2)The dogs come first. One is very large and I expressed some trepidation of him running toward me barking. There was no attempt to restrain him after that. (I am a dog lover. Have two dogs now and had very big dogs at several points in my life.)3) No top sheet. Bedding smelled of body odor. Gross.4) I arrived at 9:30 PM after a very long drive. I was exhausted then with no food available I went to bed. At 6:30 I was awakened by loud music through a speaker right outside my door.4) Really spooky proprietors5) Proprietors offer no guidance, completely disappear (probably a good thing) if you need anything forget about it and they live right there. 6) Even a local cop I talked to earlier told me to go somewhere else. I should have listened.7) My room was by the front by the main street of Westcliffe, which is actually a highway. Tractor trailers all night, loud!!!!8) Couldn't figure out how to use the TV and of course no one to ask for help.Really, don't stay here. I was so upset by what the man did to me I had to meditate to get it out of my mind. You are expected to step into their life, their animals, their everything. These people are not welcoming . Stay somewhere else.

Well this is hard to rate because we cancelled our reservations. So we can't say what the stay would be like -- but we can only assume it would have been tense for us.It was apparent from the start that the owner does not like to field questions about her policies or her establishment. My traveling companion is older and did had a plethora of detailed questions and that made the owner very very uncomfortable. She took every single question as a personal affront. good grief.the questions were general -- check-in time/check out time, cancellation policy, breakfast time (we had a schedule to adhere to), could you take-away breakfast? - stuff like that. Why the defensiveness? I don't know. they have good reviews on tripadvisor and yelp..maybe they are burned out. maybe THEY need a vacation. We don't know. We are nice people - we are kind and respectful - we don't drink or smoke. But clearly we asked too many questions for her liking. The owner was uncomfortable and highly defensive and more importantly, so were we!So we passed on staying there. When we called another establishment in town, the owner happily answered all of our questions and was looking forward to seeing us.wow. What a difference.

Do not book here, they are very rude and unprofessional. I read many reviews that said their customer services was awful, it is true. After a long drive, we were promised a bathroom to quickly change and freshen up before a wedding. We only booked this place because of this promise. When we arrived the owners were rude and would not let us use a bathroom. We had to get changed for a wedding in our car. After the wedding we checked in to find a disgusting room. The sheets were soiled and had not been washed. There were stains on the wall. It was obvious the place had not had a deep clean in awhile. We decided we would rather drive 4 hours back home than stay in this gross place. When we contacted the owner he was immature and rude. He would not refund our money and was extremely professional. I have never seen a business act so rude towards paying customers. Please believe the reviews, this place is awful. Do not stay here!!!!
