Tara, the owner of cottonwood and all of the trainers have been amazing. I am on the search for a horse and they have been so patient and helpful with finding me the right fit. Even walking me through the process of trying off-property for the first time. Tara has many connections and she's knowledgeable. The community here is also wonderful. Not toxic like many other barns. I would recommend it to everyone!

I've been boarding my horses for almost two years and have nothing but the best things to say about the facility, owners, trainers and staff. It is obvious the owners and staff are concerned and knowledgeable from the moment you arrive on site. Even though I waited for months for an opening to get into a covered pen I have loved everyday. Some of the many services include weekly veterinary visit sign up options, numerous indoor/outdoor arenas, round pens, pasture for turnout, an eventing field and trails that connect directly to Chatfield State Park. We'll be here for a long time. Thanks to Tara, Erica and Beth!!

It's not what it appears to be. It's about money, not the horses. My horse was severely injured days after I brought her there and no one cared to notice or notify me about it. Immediately trailered her elsewhere! Since then, I haven't heard one good story about this barn. Horses colic more frequently than any other barn due to simple lack of care from bad hay to letting horses go without water. They put horses in groups in the outdoor pens with only one place to eat hay from, so obviously the alpha horse is the only one that eats. They have way too many horses, hundreds probably, for them to properly care for any of them. If you put your horse here, you cannot go a day without checking on them. On top of all of this, the owners are extremely rude, greedy, and unhelpful. There are many many great stables to keep your horse at in the area at a reasonable price. Stay away from here for the sake of you and your horse.

There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful this place is! From the owners, to the office staff and the boarders, it is hands down a unique, special and happy place. My mom and I have been at Cottonwood for almost 8 years and simply put there's no place else I'd rather be. I have watched little girls become college students and now am watching the next generation of riders (including my own daughters) develop their passion for these animals and can't thank EVERYONE at Cottonwood enough for facilitating this sense of responsibility and love!

Cottonwood is an amazing place for young children and anyone who wants to start riding. It's a great beginner barn with amazing people and a great community. The people who work here are nothing but caring and loving for our horses and other people. And plus pony camp in the summer activity, ran by the owner's daughter and her best friend it is an amazing way to start your kids if you want them to get into riding. Cottonwood saved my life. I hope it can save yours too.

Stay away from this place The owners care about one thing. Money They don't care about you or your horse. But you can bet if you want to play polo and are willing to shell out 40-50k a year to the polo club they will let you. The boarding prices have doubled in a year. The care is questionable at best. the lessons are a joke and taught by high schoolers. The horse boarding business is a total joke universally. Expensive places and cheap places it doesn't matter it's a joke. This place is no different. If you come here and have a strict budget you will be laughed off the grounds. They treat us normal people like crap unless you are filthy rich and just throw money at them. The offfice person Beth us very nice. The owners are just bratty privileged sisters with zero comprehension that a $1000 a month for average people is a lot of money.

Cottonwood is great as a self-care facility. It is not a full care facility. The amenities are great. The individual horse care is not. To bill itself as full care for horses outside the indoor barns turned out to be dangerous for my horse. I am adding a photo which shows my horse's condition when we arrived at Cottonwood, the condition when we left a few months later, and the condition after he was rehab'ed. My intent is not to disparage the great things Cottonwood has to offer, which are many. However, what was marketed to me in terms of horse care is not what in fact was provided. I wish I had found a review that would have given me an honest perspective, which is why I am posting this. Cottonwood is top notch in many ways, but if you expect full care for your horse (sufficient feed and clean water on a daily basis without your intervention) you might think about looking elsewhere.
