For a Holiday KOA, I was expecting a little better. The washrooms at the back of the park was disappointing, tiny little showers and the park didn't do an evening check of the facility. For example, when I used the bathroom in the evening there as a bag with clothes left in one of the shower stalls. The next morning, it was still there. Strange. Still, it was a handy stop on the way back to Michigan.

As we go to pull in there is a line of fifth wheels waiting to turn in. We have a Class B and can fit in a normal parking spot so we decide to pull in the lot instead of staying in the road with the trailers. As we do one of the men in the splash park area (Mark) stops what he's doing and puts a hand up. We're not sure why he's waving so we pull forward to roll down the window. Before we can get there he yells "STOP" at the top of his lungs then yells at us to reverse immediately, come in the "North Entrance", then walk to the office to check in. He wasn't giving instructions though, he was yelling at us as if we did something wrong. But we had no idea what was going on. There were no signs posted, no one at the road directingwe. There were also parking spots and plenty of room to turn around by the store instead of making us reverse into traffic. Had we done that, we would've been able to see WHY this was all necessary. The drive through to the campground was closed due to asphalt repairs after a water line busted. ( I acknowledge that is out of staff control). There was no reason to yell instead of speak with basic respect to paying customers. We find the "North Entrance" and pull in. My husband chose a site ahead of time based off the campground map online. We have young children, so even though most people like more privacy we like getting spots close to restrooms and play areas. Which is where the spot he chose was supposed to be. It was not. It was dead center of the campground and had a dog pin (pathetic, all dirt/sand, I would've felt bad leaving an actual dog in there.) We pull in then walk to the store to check in. The two ladies at the front were friendly, and when we explained the issue about the site they moved us to a different location closer to the restrooms and playground. They also gave a complimentary bundle of wood since the splash park was down (from that busted water line). Unfortunately the wood was never delivered and we had to go back later to get it. Also unfortunately the new site was right beside the dumpsters and we occasionally had the smell of raw sewage and garbage blow in. The bathrooms were gross and way too small for a campsite as big as this. My husband said 1 of the 3 "poop stalls" in the men's were broken, leaving only 2 stalls and 2 urinals. In the women's 1 of the 3 toilets was stopped up every time I went in. Both bathrooms smelled moldy and none of us were brave enough to use the showers. The playground was tiny and all sand (kids love it, parents hate it). The jump pad was deflated when we first got there, then later when it was working there was dirty water bubbling out of every seam. The splash park was down when we first arrived due to a broken water line, but was repaired later and opened back up. Water was FREEZING! It was my understanding the pool and splash pad were supposed to be heated. So we go to the pool instead. Also freezing. There were lots of other kids really wanting to be in the water, but it was just too cold. So they all get in the hot tub instead. "Hot" is definitely an exaggeration. It was more like lukewarm bath water. So the kids were finally enjoying themselves, with parents sitting around supervising. When Mark comes over and gleefully (literally says nothing and just points while munching on popcorn) points out the sign saying hot tub for 18 years and up only. I understand rules ... but the pool and splash park - literally the reason this place can overcharge and claim to be a "holiday" - are intolerably cold and there are no adults who wanted to be in the dirty lukewarm hot tub anyway. We get out, and My daughter bravely tried to use the splash park, but once she started shivering uncontrollably I made her get out. Not only was it freezing, but it was also disgusting. Being out of service all day should have provided ample time to clean out the trash and dirt ....Laundry facilities were on par with the rest of the campground. Way too small, the door didn't even open all the way because it opened onto a washer. The washers small capacity front loading. 1 of the 4 wasn't working. They all took coins, but since there wasn't a coin machine, I had to download an app to apply funds to an account to digitally pay for services. I had 3 loads (because of the small capacity), but 1 of the washers wouldn't connect for payment. So I had to wait until the first 2 were done to start a 3rd. When we finally finished and tried to get some sleep, we realized how loud the road noise was. The freeway is just a football field away from the camp ground, so we heard every single car that drove by. For the cherry on top. We got a nail in our tire literally as we were pulling out of the camp ground.

Here is the latest in trying to deal with this company. Mind you, I would not choose to go back, except I need to work out of town around the area and it is the closest RV park to my job site. See my conversation with the owner from this past week.

I'll start by saying that I've stayed at KOA Kampgrounds across the country with my grandparents since I was a little kid, and this review doesn't reflect upon all of KOA, but rather only the Colorado Springs KOA Holiday.Upon check in, everyone was helpful. The staff is kind and genial. I was, however, required to sign a waiver, "It states that we can't control animals, the weather, or other people," the employee explained. I quipped, "I guess that means you can't control me, then." And she, back, "is that a challenge?" It was funny until we got to our site and were angrily greeted by our neighbor's German shepherd who had clearly also read the waiver and was eager to exercise his rights on me and my family. I later let the folks at the front desk know about this 120 pound, SUPER aggressive dog, and their response (consistent with their waiver) was, "well, that happens." I could abide by this, as I could abide by my site being out of level, the obnoxious and ever-present streetlights, the poor water pressure, the general shabbiness, and my neighbor's sewage hose being about 10 feet from our camper door, and 6 feet from our fire pit. All for over $100 a night. Less excusable was the overt political messaging of the place, present in the stack of flags as you enter, the nightly parade that incorporates the political display shown in the video, Trump flags flying from campground property, and the use of a campground common area for the distribution of political propaganda materials. While I don't share the political persuasion that this campground obviously aims to espouse, I affirm their right to do so, but under the condition that folks who stay here know exactly what they're getting into: this place is an overt and obvious haven for Trump supporters who desire to camp among their kind and spread their support to others in the form of a nightly parade that lasts until 10 pm, complete with an off duty firefighter (police officer?) who travels through the park lights and siren, blasting his horn. In response to previous reviews the owners have claimed to but failed to address this issue, and it seems to me that they've done so because they simply don't want to address it: they show their support of the obvious political messaging by making campground rules that deny their responsibility to prevent it, thus allowing the nightly family-centered parade to turn into a Trump rally. This is all to say: buyer beware. This campground is an overt political outpost whose worn outamenities and packed in sites simply aren't enough allure to overshadow the politics of the place for family looking for a vacation. Again, it's the business owners' right to express their political views in their business, but it's the consumers' right to know what they're spending their money to support.

So this was our destination for the week this used to be a nicer KOA !five years ago , it was a little better taken care of then, than now,the people were nicer in the office back then too. This time around the dog parks were not taken care of. There was no grass for them. pads were broken weeds, and dead trees not trimmed up to where they wouldn't touch the roof or the sides of your RV! They have a great waterpark and other things for you to do, but given the fact that they turned the electricity off for four hours and didn't even bother to tell us , we had two dogs had we been gone; They would've suffocated inside the RV without having electricity because the air conditioning units don't work without electricity or a generator being on! SO NO WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT YOU STAY AT THIS LOCATION IF YOU HAVE PETS OR CHILDREN OR EVEN SOMEONE WITH HEALTH CONDITIONS THAT REQUIRE AC OR OXYGEN RELATED MACHINES!!

This KOA provides linens and pillows. Each cabin has an AC which is needed especially during the summer months. They have moved all of the cabins next to the 25 freeway which make it noisy. The mattress wasn't too bad. They have. Fridge but no microwave. You can use the microwave at the store. They have. TV but no cable. Ice cost $2.00 for 7 lb bagGood Coffee is $1.00Cons- this place lacks clean management/ the trash cans were always overflowing with trashThere are only 6 bathroom stalls and showers for the whole place. The bathroom cleaning crew decided to clean both restrooms at the same time. They usually clean them @ 8:30/9:00 am

We enjoyed our visit to the Colorado Springs KOA and we do with all the KOAS we have visited throughout the United States. On our last trip to Sturgis we spent 2 nights at the Colorado Springs KOA and was happy with the location, cleanliness and staff. At the time they did require a two day reservation which was fine with us. When we return to Colorado in the future we will definitely return.

This KOA never disappoints! There is so much to see and do here that boredom isn't even a possibility. This trip we've noted more wildlife than before, which we truly appreciate. Morning coffee with the bunnies is a huge plus. Thank you for having all of the washers and dryers operational! We recommend this park!

Okay guys...here it goes. I guess I assumed that since I have stayed in several outstanding KOA's I didn't need to read reviews before I made this reservation. Lesson learned. They have always been impeccable. We brought our 2 grandsons to the Colorado Springs KOA because the website looked great. Upon arrival we were told the water park was not open due to electrical issues. Again, I understand things happen. We accepted that and proceeded to our cabin. The plastic blinds on two windows in our cabin were torn up so they used shower curtains on the windows to disguise the mess. Really? Plastic blinds are INEXPENSIVE!!!! They probably spent more on the makeshift curtain (shower curtains that were just tucked randomly into the plastic blinds with the grommets showing! The sleeper sofa was nasty with TONS of stains so I placed the bath towels on top of the sofa so we could at least sit down. I understand we are staying in an older cabin and I have no problem with that. I feel leery about using the dishes. There is a sign posted to wash dishes before checkout but there is no dish-soap in the kitchen or hand soap in the bathroom. Our reservation was placed for 4 people and we only got 2 bath towels. The cabin is old (again that's fine) but it smells dirty not old. This location is a disgrace to the KOA name/brand. This is the first review I have ever written on any business and my first review whatsoever.
