This is a beautiful city. I really like it a lot. It is home to the Olympic training Center. Its main attraction, in my humble opinion, is Garden of the Gods, a red rock park full of breath taking formations. The US Air Force Academy also calls this place home. It is a very clean city and beautiful city. I took a day trip up here from Denver. The highest mountain in Colorado, Pike's Peak, is located just outside the city and is a must see. It is amazing, if the weather allows you to go all the way up to the top.Now there is a little town called Manitou Springs that is also right outside of Colorado Springs. That has some very nice shops and restaurants to stop and visit on your way to Pikes Peak. It also has flowing springs located along the sidewalk that you can taste the water. Now, I will admit that the water is an acquired taste and had too much of a calcium taste for me, but hey, at least I gave it a shot.Other attractions in or very near the city include the National Museum of WWII Aviation and Helen Hunt Falls. I have been here a few times and have always been amazed by the cities beauty and it Red Rock formations. This should be on the top of your list to visit in Colorado.

Colorado Springs has been home to some very interesting characters, including Nikola Tesla, Robert Heinlein, Charles M. Shulz, Lon Chaney, Cassandra Peterson, (Elvira) and Goose Gossage. Colorado Springs is home to the Air Force Academy, NORAD, UCCS, Fort Carson, Peterson Space Force Base, Schriever Air Force, Base, US Olympic Committee, Headquarters and the Garden of The Gods!! Not to mention, my dream home town that I've wanted to retire for a while. The Cheyenne Zoo is amazing; my favorite spot there! So awesome that we get to feed and pet the animals at this zoo. If you go, go see the Wallabies!! I really enjoyed visiting Garden of the Gods, years ago in 2018. It was simply a beautiful experience. I enjoy visiting my friend next door who owns a farm in Peyton, CO. It's 50 minutes away from Manitou Springs, but it's amazing passing through Colorado Springs in that route!! Thinking of moving here? DO NOT MOVE HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE A JOB LINED UP. If you have a Clearance, or work for the military, you shouldn't have a problem finding a job. Colorado Springs is a military town with the Air Force Academy, Fort Carson, Schriever Air Force Base, and Peterson Air Force Base. This means that jobs working for the government are a dime a dozen but you need the proper credentials to work there.Otherwise, construction is booming and Amazon is building a facility in the Springs. There are other jobs available but competition is fierce and you need to do what you can to stand out!

A View to Die ForI really love the view at Colorado Springs. The mountains are really close up and personal, which reminds me of Salt Lake City or Boulder. At some sixty miles from Denver, Colorado Springs is easy to get to. It's the second most populous city in the state of Colorado, so you will find plenty of things to do here. The pace is much slower than a big city, however, so prepare to cool your jets and take in the relaxed vibe.

I'm really a fan of all things Colorado ... even though it's relatively limited to this point - Denver, Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak ------------ next year Red Rocks!!If you plan a day trip to Pikes Peak (or Garden of the Gods) coming out of Denver, you really need to take a little time to check out Colorado Springs. Great place to stop and grab some lunch, and if you go to the right place it may just be a brewery .... We loved Phantom Canyon Brewery. There were a fair number of places closed or that had special hours because of COVID, but, for the most part, we were able to do and see what we wanted to while we were in this part of CO. The people were nice and as other reviews have stated - the views are breathtaking to say the least. We really look forward to coming back next year and spending a little more time exploring in this area.

We truly enjoyed our 3 night stay in Colorado Springs during which we visited the U.S. Air Force Academy, Garden of the Gods, Red Rock Canyon Open Space, Manitou Springs, and Old Colorado City. The highlight was taking a wolf, Spirit, for a walk on a trail in Garden of Gods with Colorado Wolf Adventures. The only disappointment was finding the Pikes Peak Cog RR was not in operation this year, but there were more than enough things to do to fill our days and nights. Downtown proved to very walkable with many interesting restaurants and bars. The various pieces of public art included in Art on the Streets were also of interest.

Colorado Springs is a small town 60 miles south of Denver. I actually decided to take a vacation here. Why? Because of all the cool, touristy things you can do. Colorado Springs is known as the Protestant Mecca, (or the Protestant Vatican). If you're an Evangelical Christian, this is the place to go. For one, Focus on the Family is here. And you can even get a tour of the place. Also, it's home to many mega churches. The famous one being New Life Church. Of course, New Life Church got its National recognition because the Pastor at that time (around 2006), Ted Haggard, was outed doing drugs with a male prostitute. Speaking of which, since it's such a Christian city, they don't sell recreational marijuana here. Well, if you don't have a medical card, where can you get some good bud? You have to drive to Pueblo or Manitou Springs. I suggest Manitou Springs, it's closer. The main attraction (aside from Focus on the Family) is the great nature areas. You have the Manitou Incline, if you want to test your limits walking up stairs. There's also the magnificent Garden of the Gods. I think that's the main attraction here. It's a pretty cool park. There is supposed to be a Military Base here. I never visited so I can't say much about it. Food wise, this place is okay. I think Manitou Springs has better options for food. Most of the food here seem American. You don't find many ethnic food around here. The city itself looks clean and safe. It would be a cool place to live for a few years. I could see myself doing that and climbing the Manitou incline every week. Imagine how fit you would be! But after a few years, you would get bored unless you like the slow, easygoing life.

Great city. Colorado Springs has doubled in size since the early 1990's. We have 5 military installations here. So it is very vet friendly. They just built a new VA hospital here. There are many out doors things to do. And if you are just visiting there are lots of outdoor things to do that do not cost anything. I have been here since the early 1990's and have since moved my entire family here. Pikes Peak is beautiful. It is one of Colorado's 52 peaks over 14,000 feet and it is the only one you can drive to the top of, however, you can also take the train or you can walk up the Manitou Incline. There is a very nice free museum that you can go to called Pioneer's museum and it is downtown and a nice little place with a turn of the century elevator that is working and you can ride in. They are building an Olympic museum downtown but I am a bit worried due to all the homeless that hang out where they are going to build. The city government does nothing to reduce the homeless. There are tons of shelters and places to go but we still have a huge homeless problem downtown. But downtown is very walkable and there are nice shops to window shop and some cool restaurants. There is also Acacia Park and it has a water feature in the summer kids can play in. In the day the homeless is at a minimum but I am not sure I'd hang out there at night. But there is a small amount of nightlife available downtown. There are free parks like Garden of the Gods, Helen Hunt falls, Ute Valley Park, Monument Park to name a few. You can pay to go to Cave of the Winds, Seven Falls or the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo which is the countries only mountain zoo. There are tons of hills so be prepared to walk a lot. There are misters there to keep you cool and they have a little ski lift like to ride on and see a great view of the city. We, unfortunately, have a lot of chain type restaurants. But restaurants like Luigi's on Tejon that have been here over 50 years and Marigolds that have a little bit of everything but it is a bit spendy but a good place to eat and have desserts. El Taco Rey downtown that is super small but have the best tamales in town and kind of staple of downtown. The weather is great with over 300 sunny days per year. It can snow in the morning and be melted off by noon. Summer is low on humidity and there is usually very low on bugs. Summer if you are going to climb a mountain here or in another part of CO the best advice is climb in the morning because we usually have a bit of summer showers in the summer time. We really are not walk friendly. You are going to need a car. But I think being so spread out gives it a small town feel because every area is very different and people are generally very friendly. Come to visit or live. it is a good choice. I love it. I loved it so much I moved my entire family here.

Great city. Much smaller and more scenic than Denver. Less traffic, closer to the mountains, and lots to do. Although it's getting more crowded it's still a great place to hang out, tour, and live. Less liberal than the Denver metro area which is nice.

I love, love, love my hometown. Sure, I wasn't born there, but I was raised in Colorado Springs, Colo., and those of you with something bad to say about my hometown can 100% BITE ME.Pikes Peak - The SightsAmazing. What better way to wake in the morning than to look up at the mountain. Day is bad? Look at my mountain. Feeling low? Look at my mountain. Want a mini get away? Look at my mountain. If nothing else, Pikes Peak is picturesque and worth a fourth and fifth take.Beyond the Peak, the city is gorgeous. The sky line, the little city, the nice communities, Broadmoor, Olympic Training Center, Air Force Academy... great place.DowntownSimplistic wonderfulness. It has art scattered all around. It has a sense of community. There are great (yet pricy) hole in the wall spots. The restaurants are to die for. Wonderful, simple look and feel. And, a free freakin shuttle to get you around the square center that is our "city." How wonderful, relaxing and happy. The DriveSomeone said it takes an hour to get from one side to the other. Uh, only if you are in William J. Palmer's horse and buggy. I can drive to the far north side of Colorado Springs in 30 min. You have to know the roads, back roads and high roads. It is so easy to avoid traffic... go over a block. It is great.I will agree that our public transpo is a joke. Plan for a car. Period. PeopleWe have easily 400,000, and reaching 500,000 in the next 10 years. This little metropolis is a great place to raise kids, have a family and stay out of trouble. Granted, there are Colorado folks who want to keep the place from becoming California (my new home), but who could blame them? Drama, crime, hate, sadness, super busy life, or simplicity, culture and happiness? You decide.Night LifeSo there is only one block of entertainment after hours. So. What's your point? Fun is what you make of it. Not to mention, the ratio of men to women is way off. Ladies have it good in the Springs. Challenge is, most of the dudes are military and will be leaving at some point. Expect it. Plan to date a native or plan to move. Simple as that.ReligionYou have the pick of the litter in Colorado Springs... if you are Christian and conservative. I can not lie about that at all. You don't ride past cars without the fish symbol, and expect to be invited to church at least a thousand times if you live there. Either way, you don't like one church, find another. One on each corner (next to the liquor stores).I could go on and on - Garden of the Gods, UCCS, Harrison High School - but I won't. Trust, Colorado Springs is GREAT. Not that I want you to move there and crowd it all up with your hometown antics, but I wanted to brag a bit. Go on ahead and enjoy your own city, but be sure to stop by mine, leave your money, see the sights, and go home. : D

Colorado springs....Most disappointing place.People are rude, ill-mannered, impolite, price is too high, people are dressed like hicks, people are money crazy...Move here 2 and 1/2 years ago, now I am planning to move. Move out from Colorado all together. I really, really do not like Colorado springs.
