Coffee Lab in Crested Butte, Colorado, serves incredibly delicious local coffee that's a true treat for the senses. We had an iced latter with hazelnut & Wildflower iced latte. They were both tasty. The journey to the shop is just as delightful, with a mesmerizing road that adds to the overall experience. This spot is a must-visit for coffee lovers and those seeking a scenic adventure. Some parts of the road don't have a pavement, but safe if you are driving a sedan. Be cautious if it's muddy. Fun hikes near by!

A coffee shop inside of a ghost town! This coffee shop is located inside of the Gothic research area where scientist come to study ecology every summer. Stopped here after a hot hike up rustlers glutch for a pick me up. I ordered the nitro cold brew and it was so smooth and delicious. My drink was great but the view while drinking it was even better.

Little coffee gem at 9400 feet elevation. They use First Ascent local Crested Butte beans. The shop's situated in an old ghost town where the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory's located. They have all the standard espresso drinks, some teas, chai lattes, and tasty baked goods.Lots of good hiking nearby, BEAUTIFUL scenery.Open 8 am to 4 pm.

If you are in the area (even in Crested Butte), make your way here! Fantastic coffee, including Cold Brew, great mountain atmosphere, and a really cool owner! This is just a fantastic place to chill and get some caffeine while you are in the pass. t is away from it all, and really makes for a great experience. Oh, did I mention awesome coffee? Oh yeah!!!

As a RMBL scientist, I love coming here to work on my thesis, drink delicious coffee, eat doughnuts and scones, and interact with the public on days where I'm not busy with field work. It has a great atmosphere with lots of history - it's almost like a mini natural museum in the middle of the mountains!

Fair warning for coffee snobs... This is a decent coffee shop. Drinks are good, service too. Fun to go to the Gothic location and see the old house. Nothing really to complain about as a business. This is more of a heads up to those of us who see "lab" and get really excited for meticulous pour overs, talk with baristas on favorite flavor notes and countries of origin, and an open floor plan where you see the roasting process. This is not so, even if there's a sweet pic of black coffee in a beaker (which I never saw in person). Again, a solid place, but when you see a Mr. Coffee in the corner... well... Best guess is "Lab" comes from the OG being in the midst of the Rocky Mountain Biological Lab. Could be wrong though. Good place, just be aware!

If there's one thing scientists love more than the great outdoors, it's caffeine. At the Gothic Science Cafe, you can have the best of both! The espresso drinks are on point and the baked goods and ice cream (affogatos!) are perfect when you need a special treat. Would highly recommend.

What a fabulous little hang out. Comfortable place, stunning setting, friendly owner, environmentally friendly coffee. Well made specialty coffee, from regular drip, coffee made Cold Brew on Nitro, to Cashew Milk Mocha. They carry donuts from the local shop 3rd Bowl. The building itself has a history dating back to when this was a mining town. The beautiful tables are all handmade by the owner. The shop is decorated with a cool variety of natural history paraphernalia, from wildlife tracks to butterfly displays.
