City Park is a great park located only a 10 minute drive and 20 minute bike ride from Downtown Denver with Ferril Lake at its center with a walkway/bikeway surrounding it. It is a large park with plenty of walking/biking space and grass. There aren't many parking lots here but finding street parking within the park and around the perimeter of the park is easy and plentiful. I have never had an issue finding parking when visiting here. One very unique aspect of City Park is that the Denver Zoo and Denver Museum of Nature and Science are located within City Park. I have greatly enjoyed ending a visit to the zoo or museum with a leisurely stroll around the park. I highly recommend it!One thing that I will say is a downfall of the park is that it is a bit dirtier than other parks that I have gone to. There is not much that can be done regarding the plentiful goose droppings but the trash cans surrounding the park always seem to be somewhat full and emit a foul odor. It is also surrounded by relatively busy streets especially Colorado Blvd so it is not the quietest either.Overall, City Park is a great place to be active, read a book, or just chill out and take in the beautiful Colorado weather. Enjoy!

I love visiting this park. There are so many trails to walk/run. Definitely a great place to go if you want to get in a few miles. It is very peaceful here with the two ponds (Ferril and Duck Lake) and all the open grass areas. It also a great place to come walk your dog. I see many dog walkers on my visits. I have even seen people using the open grass areas to have dog training classes!City Park is located right next to the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. If you listen closely, you may be able to hear some of the animals such as the elephants! They've got tons of geese, ducks, and squirrels that hang out here. I see bird watchers come here especially over by Duck Lake that borders the zoo. They have two playgrounds here. One is on the eastern side on the other side of the lake as the building. The other is the city park playground. It is located behind the building next to the lake, down the hill and past the statue with the cannons around it. That city park playground is really great. They've got so many different types of equipment for all ages. They have different things that a typical playground such as a small bike loop that has mini hills for kids to ride their bikes on. They have a climbing structure that is shaped like a sea serpent and a tall, silo like structure that the kids can climb through with a slide at that top. Tip: Ferril lake in the center of city park has duck boats that you can rent.

I've always really liked City Park. It's a great place for walking and exploring. There are beautiful old trees and nice playgrounds. The Museum of Nature and Science and the Zoo are both near the park. Jazz in the Park is Sunday nights in the summer, and is always very fun.

Lovely and lively park. *Leave a park cleaner than you found itI have been here so many times. It is a large park so careful where you park as depending which lot you choose you could be walking quite a bit. Museums, a lake with swan boats, jungle gym, tons of picnic areas, you won't run out of space here. The lake events are decently priced! There are doing a lot of construction here and beautifying some of the area. Great place to walk the dog and relax. It seems like depending on the weekend you will have a different event to check out. Farmers markets, music in the park, arts festivals. The only don't side is that most of the water fountains and fixtures are not working. Definitely a bummer since it has been so hot. Overall 4/5

If you could only visit one park in the city of Denver this is the one I would recommend. City Park really lives up to its name in having all the things you associate with a big parks in a metropolitan area. The Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science are both located in City Park. The park also features lots of beautiful old growth trees, couple duck ponds. The park and the surround neighborhoods are kept very nice. Very clean. I've not seen any encampments or dump sites. I've never felt unsafe.

What an incredible park! By far the best park in all of Denver. One of the best views of the skyline and downtown I've seen in my 25 years of living in CO. Great waking trails and bike paths as well. Also a lot of recreational activities here like going on the lake, volleyball, and the zoo is right here too! Best park ever. 10/10

I visited the park for a birthday party. The playgrounds were fun for the kids and there was plenty of shade on a hot day. The port-o-potties received overwhelmingly positive feedback on how clean they were, which was a shocker. The duck pond was nearby and was also fun to check out.

The city park is Denver's premier regional park, which contains major attractions of the Denver Zoo, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and faculties like tennis courts, horseshoes, baseball, football and soccer fields, picnic areas etc. There are two lakes for wild ducks and swan boats, with quite a few walking trails around.

Nature Play at City Park is truly fantastic. Four acres within the park devoted to nature and activities. Great wooden sculptures mimicking the dioramas of the museum next door. Wildflowers. A stream. Winding paths. Innovative playgrounds. Our grandchildren had a blast. It was one of our best experiences with them. Kudos to Denver Parks and to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
