City On A Hill Coffee & Espresso

I love this coffee place. I'm not often in Leadville and when I am I am always just driving through, but whenI'm here I stop at Cot on a Hill. It's cute, the baked goods are great, it's got a great and convenient location, and on a long car ride coffee is a must so its nice to be able to look forward to that stop. I also love all of the local art on the walls. One day we are going to buy one of those wooden 14er topos.

This place is super cute. Lots of local art to purchase. Plenty of seating. The people that took our order were super friendly. We got the classic breakfast burrito with the red and green salsa. If you like a little kick go with the green otherwise the red is pretty tasty too. They had a peppermint mocha latte as a winter special that was yummy and my wife got the cafe florentine which is coffee and mocha and available year round. Definitely would go back.

Quiet and cozy place playing soft country/folk music. Great morning vibe and the employees were super nice. I got a cold brew and a blueberry muffin and it was fantastic. If I lived in Leadville I would visit in the morning and bring work, a book, or an art project and stay for a couple hours.

Came in for coffee and breakfast while passing through the town. The outside and inside of the shop are gorgeous. The exposed brick and decor are friendly and inviting. The menu isn't huge, but the coffee is quality. I ordered the southwest burrito, the cafe Florentine 12oz, and a slice of the eclair cake. The latte was perfect. Not too sweet, super creamy, and had a little latte art on top. The burrito wasn't huge and honestly didn't have any seasoning inside. The hot sauce on the side was necessary. The eclair was the star. It was so light, but the cream was a good thick layer and the chocolate ganache-like icing was rich and dreamy. I'll be thinking about it for days to come!

This place deserves 6 stars! The ambiance is bright, chill, and perfect for a morning coffee. The apple strudel pastry, warmed upon request, was fantastic. The chorizo burrito was equally great. Can't wait to return!

Great breakfast burritos and coffee - friendly service - nice place to relax in the morning

Came here as a meeting spot before camping in the mountains. This shop has a nice hustle bustle vibe with fast and friendly service. They offer a pretty diverse menu for a coffee shop, but I was extremely disappointed to see that their breakfast burritos were premade. The chorizo sounded amazing, but have a dairy allergy so stuck with the vegan option. It was pretty bland, but the salsa made up for it. My friend also found a hair in his food.Still a decent spot to stop by, and I personally liked this place better than another coffee shop I visited in town.

Gluten free pastries! Cute little coffee shop. Plenty of spots for people to work remotely.

Overall great atmosphere and service. Food and coffee are usually great as well. The cookies are sometimes hard as rocks and when did the red salsa change (the old red was much better)?
