Chill Salida

Decent ice cream spot on the main drag in Salida. Nice selection of flavors and toppings. We had strawberry, chocolate chip mint and cookies and cream. Everything was good but just can't say great. Still give it a try.

We came to Chill Salida 10 minutes before they closed and were able to get a couple of cones. I love that they do half scoops because I love to get 2 flavors but can't finish 2 whole scoops. I got their malted mazeltoff and oatmeal cookie ice creams. Both were so delicious!

Colorado does ice cream well and this place did not disappoint. Dense creamy and perfect. Lots of flavors to choose from. Not just generic standards. Service friendly. Covered outdoor seating. Dude playing music. It was a cool happening spot !!

Delicious ice cream that's especially great after a day in the river. The staff is friendly and will give you samples. Prices are very reasonable. Lots of flavor options from your standard choices like cookies n cream, chocolate, salted pb cup (that's what I had!) to some less common ones like yellow cake and purple mountains majesty.

Not ashamed to say we visited Chill twice in our 3-day stay. We tried Moose on the Loose, Salted Peanut Butter Cup, Cookies & Cream, and Malted Mazel Toff. All 4 flavors were fantastic. The place smells delicious, the staff were super friendly, and we got to sit outside and listen to live music on a Friday night. Everything looks absolutely amazing and my only regret is not getting to sample all the flavors or buy a shake or sundae this time around.

My daughter and I were craving some ice cream while we were in Salida last week so we decided to stop by the 'best ice cream place in Salida', Chill Salida.We walk in, and on the flavor sign it says no samples, which is odd to me coming from the Midwest where every 'craft ice cream' place gives you samples.I ordered a few scoops in a waffle cone and my daughter ordered a couple scoops in a dish. The waffle cone was not good. It wasn't crispy, or thin and it almost had a waffle-like texture, which obviously I know it's a waffle-cone but it was just odd. And the ice cream was just like normal ice cream I'd buy at the store, where it would have been a lot cheaper. Nothing was special about it at all and in all of the flavors, I had to dig around and literally look for the add-ins, like cookie dough and whatnot.If I'm in Salida again, I don't think I'd go back.

I'd been craving some ice cream since we arrived and had tried to go to Chill the night before. Unfortunately, they close at 8pm. So we decided on Saturday to try again. After ordering two different flavors in a waffle bowl, I was informed that they had run out of vanilla. Instead of asking if I wanted a different second flavor, I was given 100% of the malted mazel toff ice cream. I would have tried another flavor. The waffle bowl was chewy on one side, The malted ice cream was a gummy texture and had what tasted like dark chocolate bits, not heath bar chunks. Overall a disappointing experience. I threw half of my $10 ice cream in the garbage.

Lets you try flavors - a must have. Super personable staff. Helpful. Creamy ice cream. Good flavor optionality.
